@Smosh150: Black Mesa is very faithful to original, while obviously making a lot of visual improvements. So I think you're all good.

Good list. I've played most of these. Amazingly, I've never played a DOOM game, but since I've got it now with the PS+ subscription I will try that soon.

I might include the original Far Cry on list. Loved that one. Frankly, Far Cry 2 didn't do much for me, but Far Cry 3 was awesome.

Good call on Crysis 2. Underrated game.

Wolfenstein : New Order was fantastic. One of my favorite games ever.

Surprised Half Life 2 isn't on here.

Not exactly rocket science. We're in midst of a global recession / slowdown. If push comes to shove, even among avid gamers, you're going to spend on rent / mortgage, groceries, and gas before entertainment related expenses.

I'm largely fortunate, but I've adjusted my buying habits. Looking for deals / sales a lot more. I did splurge for PS+ Premium, but I think that's going to save me money because I'm playing a ton of games on there that I had passed on initially but am giving a try now that they're part of subscription (some better than others).

Eh. Sounds fun enough. I'm sure I'll end up taking the nieces (and their Chris Hemsworth-loving mother who will reluctantly tag along I'm sure).

I, for one, didn't mind Dark World. It's certainly #3 for me among the Thor movies, but that doesn't mean it didn't have some good moments.

I will say, MCU in Phase 4 is becoming a bit hit or miss. While everything revolved around the buildup to the Thanos confrontation for so long, it now seems there is little direction. And during Phases 1-3 they did a remarkable job of maintaining a consistent thread and kept nudging the story along through all 20+ movies (some being better than others).

Among the recent movies, I loved No Way Home. Legend of 10 rings and Dr. Strange were above average. Eternals didn't do much for me.

Series have also been inconsistent. Couldn't really get into WandaVision (although I give them credit for doing something different). Falcon & Winter Soldier was pretty good. Didn't like Loki (I'm time-traveled out). Moonknight just didn't have much Moonknight in it (while liking all the Egyptian mythology). I think I'm in the minority, but I thought Hawkeye was great. Dynamic between Hawkeye and Kate Bishop was fun. And Kate and Yelena were a ton of fun together (wouldn't mind seeing them spin-off into own series). Plus it was set at Christmas, and I'm always a sucker for that.

@bdrtfm: I hear ya. I mostly play single player games as well.

I will do some co-op action. Co-op players just don't take it so seriously and it's more of a social experience. Aliens : Fireteam Elite was a recent fun co-op experience.

I only do a few PvP games, and usually just games where it's a quick match. I'll do some Rocket League now and then. A few racing games (Wreckfest). I also still like the X-wing vs. Tie Fighter action in Battlefront 2. But I agree, largely too much BS in multiplayer. And the worst of it often comes from your own teammates.

@skydiv4500: Definitely not great. Not all bad, but nothing special so far. I have a feeling we're going to be disappointed with Vader's screen time. They at least teased him at end of ep 2. If I had to guess, we'll get a little more of him each episode.

Sort of glad they brought Leia into story, although her kidnapping was awkwardly executed. It does add some more context to Leia's plea to Obi Wan in New Hope since we now know she has a personal relationship with him.

@knifebeater: Yeah. I was watching it with my niece who said, "These are the worst bad guys ever" during the Leia chase scene in the forest.

Some great ones on this list.

The Rock seems to always be on TV somewhere, and I usually watch it if I stumble across if while flipping channels. Fantastic movie. Cage and Connery at their best. So much fun.

Love The Professional. Guess I'd agree with others that I never really considered it an action film. There are undeniable action elements to it, especially the closing scenes. However, it's somewhat subjective. Doesn't change fact it's a great movie.

Always thought Die Hard with a Vengeance was somewhat underrated among the Die Hard films. A little cheesy with the brother surfacing to enact revenge for the death of his sibling from first movie. Very cliched. However, the Willis / Jackson chemistry was perfect, and the race against the clock to defuse bombs was a good twist on Die Hard formula.

That's nice of Hamill and all, but really, what was he going to say? The kid sucks?

At any rate, looking forward to series.

Looks like it could be entertaining. Nice hat tip recreating the cargo plane scene from UC3.

I like Tom Holland, but I'm having a hard time getting past boyish Peter Parker looks. It appears this may be a bit of an origin story with a younger Nathan Drake before he became the seasoned adventurer he already was when he was first introduced to us. Still, I was just picturing someone a bit more rugged looking. Kind of a Gerard Butler type (although at this point he may be too old).

So we'll hope for the best. Since we're not getting anymore UC games, this is all we've got.
