@ahztek666 You know most people who play video games have a job, family and friends? You are right though, a 12-20 hour FPS is considered a good length these days, and they have a lot more filler than Cages stories have, so I can't see how its length is a valid reason to not pay full-price for it.

@k0wing As it has been so long since the last, upsetting Splinter Cell, I was excited about the prospects of Blacklist, with the potential for amazing stealth, great A.I and all the graphics and gameplay improvements of the last few years - and then I read that Mark and Execute were still going to be in it. So no Splinter Cell, then? : (

@Aengelus Oh, definitely. But quality shouldn't affect whether it merits art status. And didn't Revour say ,'Bad art is more tragically beautiful than good art because it documents human failure'. So there you go, Minaj is tragically beautiful art. Excuse me whilst I vomit.

@Aengelus I think it must be all or nothing. I don't believe you should start splitting whether Bioshock is art but Call of Duty isn't. Then Casablanca is but Battle: Los Angeles isn't. How can you compare the Sistine Chapel to some post-modern dross an say the latter is art?

@JRLennis I wouldn't be to worried. There is a large consort of studios and developers who are pushing hard the other way. There will always be action-based 'Michael Bay' style games by developers whose talent lies there. But equally there will always be those to whom the story drives the game-play. The market is big enough for them all.

Spend more than 3-5 months creating the story element and people will find it intriguing enough to complete. You just have to look at the many recent AAA story-driven games to see that many gamers think it's pretty darn important.

@00-Riddick-00 Whilst it is good for both you and Dead Island that you enjoyed it so much, most people thought the narrative and technical elements (i.e. the game) were garbage. It's kind of a guilty pleasure I suppose, like admitting you enjoyed Sucker Punch, but you must realise you are in a lonely place.

@jonnybutler11 @jecomans I'm not sure it matters? All ignorance is by nature based in something a thinking person would fund absurd. As I side note, as much of the thinking against religion and faith goes, as a science-based professional I find people often forget that the inferences we hold as truth are often based in the faith that the observations we have based them on are also truths. For instance, both the Christian and the scientific creation story are based on an article that no-one can possibly explain how came to being in the first place.

@Grenadeh Some, yes. Unfortunately for you they don't seem to have a monopoly on idiocy.

@Grenadeh Actually many people specifically avoid finding out about movies or games that are by people they like in order for as much as possible to be a surprise. Or he potentially had no idea what BioShock was until a friend ranted about it and he decided to jump on Valve and get it.

Chill out pal, it's good for the heart.
