@jinzo9988 They're so focused on everything being 'big' these days. It's all massive maps, with a billion useless little objectives to make it seem like they have content for it all. They can't seem to get away from thinking unbridled scope = compelling game.
@hoyholyhoy That's a very odd amount of faith to place in a game that's ages away from release, by a currently shonky developer. I think it has very impressive marketing material, but Ubisoft have displayed a complete inability to turn that into good games - let alone their best ever.
@crusaderprophet For me the original was one of the first big games to really bring a wow factor to the PS3. The design was quite repetitive, but it was fresh, had a really interesting story in a well developed and produced historical setting. Then two took that and ran away with it, a superb game. It lost me after that though, and that is in fact the last non-UbiArt game to come out of Ubisoft that I enjoyed. And I enjoyed it so much. I hope Ubi get back to that level soon.
@jharring This year had more failures than unusual, but there were still plenty enough really good AAA titles to keep everyone occupied. Maybe the fact that the few total failures were so high profile, and we didn't get the likes of a B:I, TLoU or GTAV like we got last year makes 2014 seem worse. But considering how many great games came out calling it awful seems like a bit of hyperbole.
@earielmb They've got a quiet year in 2015 so far. The inevitable AC (Victory?), RS: Siege, and The Division. Though the last two may not even make the year.
Also publishing Gearboxes Brothers in Arms 4, which no one thinks looks good, and Toy Soldiers, which is going to be very popular on new gen consoles I'm sure.
Hey, it can't be worse than this year, if only because if every game announced sucks, it'll still be less than this year?
