@hwrdstrnsbals Whilst I disagree with you about the story and world, I agree with you on the gameplay. Even CDPR know the combat wasn't up to par. They've said they'll be making it good this time, and I hope they are because I don't think I could be bothered playing it other wise.
@Halloll Horrible controls they were. It played like the poor bastard controls of Souls and Arkham games. They have said, though, that improving the combat and controls is something they were focusing on.
@handssss Fortunately McShea is consistent with what he does and doesn't like, so it's really easy for us readers who disagree with him to estimate what our personal adjusted score will be. Which you do for every review you read anyway don't you?
@Igal-Ze You can either farm for levels until by force and will you succeed, or you can use observation, creativity and strategy to succeed. That you failed to use the latter says more about your gameplay than what the game is offering.
@System4Ever In a game built around tight controls and difficult combat, when you're out there between bonfires, an input going awry 1-in-10 times is a big enough problem to complain about.
@prestonee It is hard to take you and your decidedly non-gamer opinion seriously when you compare Knack, a brawler, to old-school platformers. Your ignorance of critical context regarding genre is unbelievable.
@razama I think the 7/10 is not meant to be indicative of how fun you will find the game as a South Park fan, but how engaging you will find it as a RPG fan. And, being that it is a game, that is a fair way to mark it. As is the 9/10 given by IGN's resident South Park nerd, which points out the mechanical flaws but gives them little standing in the final score.
@IDarkNight If you read the review you will find that the length is not major reason for the score not being 8, but have fun listing a stack of completely irrelevant play times any way.
