@johnnybowman He didn't say that in the slightest. He's rightly imploring that we take our opinions of content and news and use them to generate meaningful discussion, instead of trolling and lashing out at people.
He in fact specifically points out that headlines and the way certain articles are phrased could be part of the problem, so he isn't even laying it all at the feet of users.
@s_h_a_d_o I actually find it kind of irritating that their looks like so much on the screen. Hopefully you can personalize and hide parts you don't want?
@ZeroX91 Oddly enough I think core gamers like us here are happier with graphics and want a bit more, but all my casul gamer friends ask about graphics first, whether a new game or console. They're also the types that play shooters and not much else.
I think that is where Rubin is slightly, but honestly, off-base with his comments, in that the gamers who play his games are often graphics hounds, but the smaller studios and indies make games that only core gamers will usually ever hear off, and we are more likely to be looking for different experiences in our games.
His major points; that parents should exert some responsibility over their households and ensure their children are playing age appropriate games, and maintaining a balanced life, are very reasonable.
The guy makes some good points, so lets increase access to mental health care, and control access to guns, especially the military style arms which constantly feature in mass shootings.
A lot of research has been done on gaming and its connection to violence, mostly small studies (often biased on both sides), and the combined evidence is entirely inconclusive. Still it's the low hanging fruit that's easier to complain about than the significant changes that should be made, that will benefit millions of people not connected to shootings.
@Raxyman Silly me, I thought the damage was opposite, and you also inflicted less damage. Shows how much I play as human. Almost done on NG++ and I still only ever become human to kindle. Not much interest in multiplayer in any game. Not averse to being invaded, I'm just happy by myself.
By the way, I'm sure Deep Down is second half of next year. The current playable version is pre-beta. Looks interesting, but I want to know whats going on with its always online multiplayer they're talking about.
@IncinX @JanCarl0 What I don't like about the changes is that encouraging being human, and allowing invasions any time makes sense with the rules and lore the game world has established. Limiting co-op goes against all that and is an illogical bit of developer interference to make the game harder.
@WolfGrey Why fail? Many people just like playing PvE. Nothing wrong with that.
Now they are forcing what was previously an option onto people. It makes sense within the internal logic of the game, but it is understandable that someone would be apprehensive about a key feature of their PvE experience changing.
