@Fallenlords69: BF4 was broken for almost a year on the multiplayer side, let's not forget other big games broken on release like Drive Club, AC:Unity and the still broken Master Chief Collection among others.
I have nothing against patches after the game is out, that's fine, but the fact that a game on day 1 is now unplayable till one has to connect to the internet and download a large patch defeats the primary convenience consoles had over PCs (and no not everyone is online or has data allowances to allow for 9GB patches). This isn't 'progress' but a sense of regression, the fact that the game can be released but not 'ready' and yet still charge money for that privilege is mind-boggling.
@jerjef: It's not even close to the status quo for anyone who's played any competitive games in past 20 years. Paying users will get the best gear faster. To put it simply, in a game-by-game basis, the teams with more paying players will have an inherit advantage in cards.
Your cheat code analogy makes no sense. Firstly they were always freely available to anyone, and secondly they rarely applied to online multiplayer.
@jerjef: But the grind is used to punish those that don't fork out extra money which then heavily throws off the game balance, not much more different then mobile f2p games.
@parabolee77: That's technically more of a dead-zone issue than a height issue. A well done height without too much dead-movement definitely will improve precision, however not all players want that feel which is fine.
True not all controllers disintegrate but it's happened frequently enough for it to be an issue. Much like the RRoD of the 360 where I didn't have it personally on my launch model but I don't discount those that did. The material for those thumb sticks are susceptible to more wear and tear.
Yes it's all down to personal preference ultimately. I couldn't stand the dual shocks prior to the DS4. This is the first one that felt truly comfortable, my main gripe with the DS is still the thumb stick placement for me isn't the most ergonomic of positions compared to what I find is far more optimal positioning on the Xbox/Gamecube controllers.
The elite looks like something I would be interested in, maybe I might take a second look at it once there's a sale or something.
@dribblesbarbax: Poor Tay, he does sound like he's grasping for straws to defend Destiny at this point which is a shame. The big flaw with Destiny is you have to buy the DLC for it to be 'good'. Halo has enough content in the base game already in comparison.
@tawilk34: 'spoiler: they don't ever, in any way, shape, or form.' - That's not entirely true, there's a natural advantage to those that buy REQ packs as they're 3-4 games worth of grinding ahead of those that don't.
