ok so i am going to buy the arcade and my questions are.can i buy a hard drive if i want to for it.why cant i go online on it?is it 720p?is it a good deal if i want it solely for gaming.is there some way to get internet on x box 360 arcade/ tyclaywalker21
you can buy a microsoft xbox 360 hard drive in either (20gb, soon to be sold 60gb or 120gb). you can go online with it, all xbox 360's have ethernet ports on them so you can run a wire from a router to it, but if you want wireless internet you have to buy a microsoft wireless internet adapter or some alternative. all new xbox 360's have hdmi ports that allows the system to display games up to 1080p. its a good deal if you want it for gaming, but if you do a lot of downloading of arcade games, movies, music and demos you will need at least the 20gb hard drive if not something more.

Hey Im thinking about buying a new 80gb for the backwards compatibility. say if i buy it and replace that 80gb hdd with say a 160 gb hdd. does the 80gb contain the emulator software so If i put in a new hdd i would lose the backwards compatiability?

but paramount pictures ( one of the big 3 movie companies) signed a excluvise deal to release all their movies on hd-dvd only. and walmart is offering $200 toshiba hd-dvd players. so the format war is far from over.

as for the console there are 3 choices

Arcade $280, get wireless controller, 258 meg memory card, standard def cables, power supply and 5 free arcade games (worth about 30 bucks).

Premium (aka pro) $350 bucks comes with 20 gb hard drive ($100), hi-def cables, wireless controller, and they are going to bundle 2 games marvel ultimate alliance and forza 2 (60 bucks per game) with the system.

Elite $450 same as premium but comes with a 120 gb hard drive ($180) and is black in color

nah i'd rather let the 360 have a format that devs are used to and can take it to the fullest! rather the blu-ray's more expensive and they can't take it to it's full potentialKGB32

all blu-ray and dvds do is hold data, its the consoles that use the data to its potential.

they send it back to the shipping center that is closet to your house. so it sits in a warehouse probably within 30 minutes from your house usually. if you want the tracking number call 1-800-4myxbox and ask them for the tracking number so you can get it when they send it back. ups is the best on hitting their dates that they give you.

probably the newest consoles made. there is a little press in flap on the box of the xbox's that you can check at the stores to see when it was manufactured. so you can look at them all and pick up the newest one. and i think the elite, premiums and cores (now arcade version) all have the same insides so it shouldnt matter which one you get but id get a premium or elite.
