[QUOTE="froidnite"]Not really...He made it sound like MS were somehow responsible for the game turning out the way they did.IronBass
And they are. They gave the devs money by publishing their games. What would have happened if they hadn't is irrelevant, because no one knows. Fact is, MS published those games, being one way or another responsible for what they are.

The guy in the article is complaining about Microsoft's handling of Studios after they are bought by Microsoft, not those games which are published by them. A game that is 90% done by the time Microsoft buys it will not be affected by what this guy is complaining about. And as he states, he made sure Bungie could have more freedom then was allowed FASA, and they still chaffed under Microsoft's policies.

When i first saw this game I was like "Hell yes!" Cause i loved the console Baulder's gates for their co-op. Then I found out it wouldn't have this feature and now I will not be buying it.

YankeeDan345
The console Baldur's Gates were nothing like Baldur's Gate, and were mostly terrible.

.... All I can think of are games like The Sims and World of Warcraft?

Warcraft 3, Diablo II, and Star Craft....

All good games (Except maybe Diablo II) but there's gotta be more!

Where are the Linear JRPGs and Platformers? Where are the simple titles that only take 20 hours to beat instead of begging to consume every ounce of your precious and inflated free time with mods and user created content?

Can these games even exist on the PC? Or is the PC all about obsession based games that are more about giving you something to do when you get home from a long day of work rather than presenting an interesting story or artistic concept?

At least there's still Valve.

TheElfChild

There's more good platformers and story/artistic games on Kongregate then there are on consoles. Which says something about something I'm sure.

Ugg, I was so hyped for this game, but the trailers and releases they've shown have just killed any chance that this game is going to be any good. It's really too bad. =(

After Fable 1 was a disappointment and Fable 2 was just a huge pile of garbage, I don't understand why this guy is taken seriously anymore.

Vaasman
Well the games Bullfrog made were really good.

[QUOTE="GundamGuy0"][QUOTE="cowgriller"]

really? explain. because what i defined was a low production quality game made for the sole purpose to make money from uninformed gamers.

cowgriller

Because what does that really mean? How do you decide what was a low production quality, and how do you decide if the purpose was solely to make money from uninformed as opposed to informed gamers? A definition isn't good if it doesn't tell you anything and only opens up more debate as to what fits your definition.

the definition is self explanatory. a low production quality game is a game that not only has poor graphics, but also has several very noticeable bugs that would normally be resolved during the debugging/finalisation of the game. most games have bugs in one form or another, but to leave in bugs that are obvious, like clipping issues, poor translations from one language to another, etc. that's just wrong and shows lack of workmanship (production value).

an uninformed gamer is one that doesn't take the time actually learn about the game, to see ahead od time what it's about before deciding whether to buy it or not. once again, it's self explanatory.

So, since the Wii ___ games don't have bugs and show high quality of workmanship, they aren't shovelware. QED.

I think you guys forgot the biggest piece of shovelware ever. GTA4, it's just a giant crappy montage of games. One second, I'm driving around, AND THEN I'M SHOOTING! WTF? And then I have to go on a date! And then I play pool! WTF? A DRIVING/SHOOTING/DATING SIM/POOL montage? GIVE ME A BREAK! And then I buy clothes, and BAM! It's a driving game/shooter/dating sim/Pool/dress up montage. And then I buy some property, so it's a driving game/shooter/dating sim/Pool/dress up/real estate montage! What a total shovelware game. Stupid montage games are worthless.

Halo 3 is the same way, one second I'm shooting, and the next I'm setting up a level. Who wants a shooter/builder montage? No one, thats who.
