But how would you change something that works perfectly with the series, that turned-base formula has a such a perfect balance that if you mess with it...you destroy it.
If you are trying to refer to somthing as an Action RPG..........no :|
It could work, it would just require some out of the box thinking.
If nothing else, I'd like for Nintendo to TRY something different.
Play Pokemon Ranger or Pokemon Mystery Dungeon if you want a different style of play.M rating guns boobs blood and gore 8million sales + 9.5 metascore am confirmed.funsohngSeems like a bad idea if it will lose them sales.

[QUOTE="vashkey"] Oh, definitely. After giving plenty of Pokemon games high scores who wouldn't think gs didn't like Pokemon. /sarcarsm At least try to present evidence.vashkey
They haven't given pokemon a decent score in years.
as for proof...
-----------------
Triple battles and rotation battles are now a part of gameplay, which are variations of battling like double battles.
The introduction of seasons, which alternate every month.
Introduction of the Entralink, which allows players to visit each other in-game, rather than just inside of the Union Room.
The new Pokémon Global Link, which allows players to connect their games to the internet to view statistics or download some changes to the games, such as the design of the Pokédex. This also grants players access to the Pokémon Dream World, where players may befriend Pokémon and send them over to their games.
The overworld music also changes in certain circumstances. Almost all the routes now have instruments that differ between the seasons, and layers that activate and deactivate when the player walks or stops, respectively; while music that plays in some towns and cities have layers that can be added by talking to citizens. These people can be seen playing different musical instruments like piano, guitar, etc.
The addition of 92 new moves, bringing the total to 559. (Big deal to the metagame)
The addition of 41 new abilities, bringing the total to 164. Many older Pokémon are allowed to have new abilities (another big deal to the metagame)
The introduction of Infared communication, greatly enhanced Wifi and streamlined local communication (that the review directly writes off)
------------------
Where are any of those points in the review?
Triple battles? How is this important? How does this make gameplay significantly better? Seasons don't change the gameplay significantly, it's just an extension of the the day cycle and week cycle introduced in Gold/silver Music does not improve gameplay New moves and abilities does not significantly improve gameplay, especially since there were already hundreds. It's still the same core gameplay. That enhanced wifi doesn't change Pokemon. It doesn't improve the gameplay. How would they improve the gameplay without changing the core of what makes Pokemon what it is? The battle system a key part of the metagame, so you can't change that too drastically without destroying much of what you've built. Changing the narrative structure I guess? That doesn't really change the core like you want. I just don't really see how they can change the core gameplay like you want them to do, without destroying the stuff they built around it.[QUOTE="jeffwulf"]
You're right. The fact that it's hard doesn't make it impossible. The fact that it's impossible is what makes it impossible. There are so many different pokemon with different shapes that the models would take up aprohibitive ammount of space.
It's simple. Cut the numbers of Pokemons in a game.
Every Final Fantasy since FF7 has had 300+ fully polygonal enemies in each game without any problem.
how many of those enemies were pallet swaps? Many of them. The problem with totally 3Ding pokemon is that there are very few that could be rendered with the same model.Maybe a case of this? http://knowyourmeme.com/memes/protip
I only buy shootersif they have greatsingle player. Coincidently, I don't buy many shooters. =/
[QUOTE="Shinobishyguy"][QUOTE="Bread_or_Decide"] Mmmm......okamiden looks pretty good for a DS game. The upgrades haven't even been marginal. The contempt to keep this franchise the same is unbelievable. Only NOW are they adding new camera angles? wtf?Bread_or_Decidethats cause okamiden doesn't have 649 different pokemon to render in 3d along with animations. Just cause it's hard doesn't make it impossible. You're right. The fact that it's hard doesn't make it impossible. The fact that it's impossible is what makes it impossible. There are so many different pokemon with different shapes that the models would take up aprohibitive ammount of space.

DICE and Blizzard - the only two devs capable of thinking "PC grade" anymore.
Everyone else is just a sellout game-politician trying to appease consolers for maximum profit.
DICE on the other hand says "no", we will maintain integrity and create a vision; not a console game.

You're forgetting CD Projekt Red. They're doing pretty good with Witcher, and the sequel's on it's way. It won't be multiplat on release - bet on that.
Paradox Interactive as well.I would argue Paradox Interactive over both!DICE and Blizzard - the only two devs capable of thinking "PC grade" anymore.
