[QUOTE="Cyberdot"]

[QUOTE="C_Rule"] Oh dear, we're still getting this irrational posts? Cmon, now.C_Rule

It's Origin.

Hello, what planet are you from? I repeat, it's Origin.

The planet where I don't jump on every unnecessary hate-bandwagon. Origin works fine, get over it.

Right, it works fine. But surely you can understand that Origin is nothing more than one further attempt by a gaming company to impose a unified, proprietary system of control and purchasing between players and their games, leveraging those same games against users of Steam, etc, to try and strong-arm them into utilising their service instead?

Surely you also understand that it's no different than every single proprietary network or means of access "offered" (shoved down your gullet) by Ubisoft, Activision-Blizzard, etc, which really are an enormous inconvenience to a player base that moves from game to game with great velocity, and whose constituents are no doubt exhausted by this point (by three or four years ago, really) of dealing with such deliberately entangled bullsh*t on a game to game basis.

If you realise this then you must understand the hatred for Origin. I would also like to humbly submit that this same gradually cultivated hatred is quite the incentive to piracy...

That's like someone refusing to f*ck their significant other in the hope that they will get the message and change their entire personality/lose weight, etc. Buy what you want to begin with.

If by 'overrated' you mean 'universally condemned', then sure, I agree.

Cool. Maybe a year from now NASA can help them launch their unsold consoles into space.

Wouldn't use Origin if each purchase came with one busty hoer and a six pack.

I thought it looked spectacular, what with the shooting and the, umm, you know, the robots and stuff. What do you call those suit things? The ones the Japanese have been crazy about forever now. Megas? Megas, yeah. Wouldn't mind piloting one of those things again, gee. Reminds me of FEAR 2, maybe the best FPS since Killzone, fellas. Definitely the grayest, but hey, you never know. Maybe Titanfall could show it a thing or two in that department also.

I just read this thread very thoroughly. Every last inch of text. Hold tight, I'm sure you'll be done reading my post soon. Please don't assume I'm going to rape you or anyone else or that this has anything to do with rape. I know I'm walking a risky line here.

Better gameplay than Crysis 3 is not much worth bragging about.

Microsoft should have been more lenient with their online connection, single player games should be able to be played at any extent without the box telling you to do something - even though I do agree with the internet connection requirements.

I think its worth a constant connection if the box can update games when your not playing them - just like Steam does now. You'll be doing something else and the system will tell you Game X and Y have been updated.
Or for it to even do a complete system update while you sleep.

R3FURBISHED

The current system already requires you to update games if you wish to play them on Xbox Live; why punish people who don't care and are only going to play them offline anyway?

The whole beef with MS's DRM is that you can't loan out your game 100s of times, and you may have problems selling it. With Steam, you absolutely cannot share your game or sell it.

StormyJoe

True, of course. The argument of desire though, again, is that the core PC gaming community knows exactly what it wants and could provide for its gaming needs quite adequately through means other than Steam and no doubt would were it not for those desires that Steam manages to fulfill, namely, convenience, excellent sales/bundle pricing, and universality.

The PC gaming community seems on the whole to have much different desires than the console gaming community, and has grown and been built in a much different way. The expectation of such service, in other words, simply is not there. Nor the desire, generally.
