This gets a bit long whinge if you like or don't read it
Before I get to carried away iv had every Zelda console game since the original. It is the only franchise I will buy 100% of the time and I would buy the next Zelda game if I read 100 reviews saying it was crap, id still look for myself. The reason behind this is the newest Zelda game will never be crap, sure at the very least it might be a polished recap of the same old same old, but it will be a quality recap.
The OoT is my favourite Zelda game to the series but WW is a very close second. (hey I liked links awakening too). The reason these games were great is because of their epic nature. OoT held me in front of the tv for hours at a time exploring the large (for its time) environment and puzzles. The Wind Waker did look kiddy but the cell shaded approach made the characters look, interact and feel real. For the first time game characters demonstrated emotions and feelings and interacting with them had more meaning. I remember getting to the castle for the first time when it was black and white and just looking around for like 30 min, the scene and the music making the adventure something to stop and look at rather than rush through to the ending.
If the newest Zelda is going to continue the series along it needs to do things like this. I can tell TP wasn't the greatest Zelda game because its the only one I haven't gone back to replay as yet. Like a good book iv gone through the others a number of times. The new Zelda needs to do something and be something that people take the time to stop and look at the feeling the game creates.
As an idea id like the game to run similar to the elder scrolls games like oblivion. The side missions in most Zelda games are good but to have the complete sense of freedom whilst interacting with an awesome new environment with its characters would be great. I really hope they don't ruin the series by making the game casual (I use that term very loosely).
