Giantbomb's GOTY Awards Day 3

If you want to listen to their deliberations, you can find it here. Skip to 22:24.

Rayman Origins and Dead Space 2 were the runners up.

Uncharted 3 was cut to give a nod to Dead Space 2, while Killzone 3, Resistance 3, Gears 3, and Crysis 2 (all versions) weren't even considered in the discussion.

Note that they say they tried to look at the games from both technical and aesthetic/artistic perspectives.

I think the game with the complete package won, but what say you system wars?

vegaruins666

also a boring game.

Incredible game. best RPG this gen.

As a sort of interactive story new vegas is easily the best. as a sandbox to **** around in skyrim is the best. I prefer NV. the storytelling, writing and ability you have to effect the world is sooooooooooooo much beter than in skyrim. mechanically thouh skryim is better (even tho i dont like skyrims melee combat)

Only if you like doing chores while robots with annoying voices crack jokes around you. Unfunny jokes IMO, but IMMV.

The challenge comes from figuring out the order in which to place portals as only a few surfaces support portals. If that sounds like fun please go ahead and buy it.

I suppose the coop campaign is fun. Never tried it. But the SP is a turd.

Baranga, im gonna put this out nicely. You suck.

yeah, i agree. that game is fantastic.

i think the term "RPG" is broader than you are making it out to be. skyrim is definitely an action rpg. there character progression is there both in the skills, loot, leveling weapons and branching story stuff (though not nearly as branching as fallout or games with GOOD stories, lol). its definitely an rpg of a sort.

[QUOTE="SauceKing"]I have always been a tech enthusiast and kept a cutting edge PC. But the reality is, PC gaming is dying. My last gaming PC purchase was a laptop, then i bought an iphone and a tablet computer. Pc gaming is trending towards smaller and more efficient. You arent bleeding edge if you are still outfitting tower cases with enormous graphics cards.... new technology is more compact. It doesnt matter how many cards you have running in SLI, if you own a tower case, you are no longer technologically savvy... you are old, you are behind the times... your giant gaming PC is outdated. Get over it PC gamers, your rig is old, and you are old.... you are a relic. Stop pretending you are somehow on the bleeding edge of technology.SauceKing

this post is so full of bs i don't know where to begin.

pc gaming is not dying, as a matter of fact steam is growing a lot every year. in other topic its been discussed im not gonna repeat myself to a lvl 1 troll.

no gaming laptop is gonna have the real power of a gaming desktop pc unless you are willing to spend $ 4k in a laptop, i usually have my gaming desktop pc for playing and my laptop for working

iphona and tablet pcs don't have any real power to run decent games, they are nice to have and have some fun games but they are a joke to play games in, they are usually used for portable media.

"It doesnt matter how many cards you have running in SLI, if you own a tower case, you are no longer technologically savvy... you are old, you are behind the times..." thats gotta be the most ignorant comment i've read, go to any lan party and see how many go with laptops. In sheer power, desktop pcs destroy everything else.

i don't even know why i answered, you are obviously some kind of pathetic console troll. As a technology enthusiast i love having an updated gaming rig

who still buys desktop PCs? nobody., outside of PC gamers, which are well behind the times. This is the perfect example of unwillingness to adapt. and my last gaming pc purchase was actually an a72 asus gaming laptop.... after nothing but standard PC desktop purchases for over 10 years... i stayed on the bleeding edge but unlike PC gamers, i adapted.

work stations. anyway me and two other friends are building pcs right now. soooooooooooooo there.
