So wait...are they calling it PSP 2 or Next Generation Portable?

Slomchom

Not sure really. Engadget is referring to it as the NGP though... It was just announced minutes ago, so we don't have all the details lol

Device looks amazing...but please please please don't let it be called the "Next Generation Portable."

Anyone else having a hard time getting ANY of these sites to load? Gamespot loads up fine, but I can't get on kotaku, IGN, or joystiq...

If Sony has any idea at all what makes a strong brand, then an android OS make no sense for the PSP2.

Access to the Android market; however, makes perfect sense. I envision it being similar to the way Netflix currently runs on the PS3. You'll still have the traditional XMB, but the Android Marketplace will be integrated within the PS Store.

The they're smart, that's how they'll do it.

The most likely scenario is that the writer simply confused the PSP2 with the Xperia Play.

Until the convention in Tokyo on the 27th, we can't really tell if any of the pictures are accurate.

DaAlienMan

that's what I wanted to say this whole time..who cares about these mockups..just wait for a few days

Seriously? These kinds of posts crack me up. This is the internet people. This is a video game message board. This is where we come to talk and speculate about rumors, mockups, etc... I'm pretty sure we all know that we can wait until the 27th for concrete answers, but that doesn't make it any less fun to speculate.

Not directing this at either of you personally, but these kinds of posts in general always make me laugh. If everyone held this same attitude then we post the mockup, say "cool" and move on. There'd be zero discussion about future products/games and the forum would be much less enjoyable.

Pic is grainy, but I think it's legit.

Love the placement of the sticks. Wish the buttons and d-pad were a little bigger. Also like that they went with the concave sticks.

Not as sleek as I would have liked, but I think it's because of the low-res pic quality.

Dead Space is good, but Mass Effect is a once in a generation type of game. Just phenomenal from beginning to end.
