"The handheld has sold an estimated total of 73 million units as of March 2018", uh no, those are SHIPPED numbers, the sell through isn't 100%, otherwise every single store would be sold out of them.

Pokemon remakes don't sell as well as mainline games, fanboys argue because it's a remake. They remake this and fanboys act like it's going to be the highest selling version ever, and sell 20 million systems, oblivious to the fact that the people who this is being aimed at generally don't pay $300 for a system and $60 for games- they usually pay $10 or $20 for in app purchases, that's why casuals are mobile gamers now...

Such a waste of R&D money which could have been used to lower the price of Switch so they can actually make their 20 million goal this fiscal year.

@oKiRe: He's likely saying this so the 3DS doesn't continue its sharp decline. See fanboys keep ignoring this, and Reggie's lies don't help, but worldwide (and in the US), the 3DS hardware sales are massively lower compared to last year, and only continuing to fall every month compared to last year- that's why Nintendo is releasing so many special editions of the New 2DS XL to try to minimize the downfall, but eventually it's going to reach a point when people aren't going to continue buying the system 6, 7, or 8 times (sadly, that's not an exaggeration, people really have bought that many of them, just look up Erica Griffin on youtube who posted about buying her 7th 3DS a couple years ago).

Yeah, good luck actually getting it, Iwata merged their handheld and console hardware divisions back in 2013, so future devices would share the same hardware. Also, look at this year's E3, you notice how few games Nintendo has been able to produce, because they continue the idiotic nature of developing for 3 platforms (Switch, 3DS, mobile if you can't count), and it's leading to now Switch delays (Yoshi is delayed, no news on Metroid Prime 4, remember?). This is only going to be worse going forward if they continue ignoring what Iwata did, and that was for mobile and Switch to be their future, not mobile, Switch AND 3DS!!

Sadly, Kimishima set him up for failure, because the Switch is relying on Pokemon Go's dead hype and Smash to sell 100 million games this year alone- hint, it won't!

@NorseLax09: Iwata did that about 5 years ago as a way to stem losses from the 3DS/Wii U (both were costing them money since the 3DS had to have that massive price cut, and Wii U wasn't taking off).

@fig56: No full fledged Pokemon game for Switch other than those Go Yellow remakes, so it's doubtful they're going to release a bombshell- unless the niche Animal Crossing counts.

Why the hell are you expecting a bunch more 3DS games? It's clear after Level 5, Game Freak, Atlus, among others all announcing they're moving their most popular IP's from 3DS to Switch, that the Switch is the 3DS's successor, despite what you fanboys and Nintendo themselves claim.
