@thelostscribe: One, wrong, the Wii U outsold every Sega system, except Genesis, so that means Master System sold worse than garbage, Saturn sold worse than garbage, Dreamcast sold worse than garbage, because Wii U outsold them! Plus, since it's a disc system, GameStop still sells used Wii U's, and remember MORE of them exist than any Sega system other than Genesis! By the way, profitable systems aren't failures, and Wii U actually was profitable http://www.dailygadgetry.com/wii-u-finally-profitable-nintendo/4637
Too bad you fanboys are brainless dults who believe what Wikipedia tells them instead of using your own brain- I guess video games do rot brains!
@endersdragon: "Worst selling", but still outsold everything Sega ever did except Genesis! Think about that! More Wii U's than Master Systems's. More Wii U's than Saturn's. More Wii U's than Dreamcast's. Nintendo's IP is so strong that they can hold their own, and still sell nearly 14 million systems just on their own games, AND be profitable! http://www.dailygadgetry.com/wii-u-finally-profitable-nintendo/4637
@moviespot: They won't do that many, they only did them now, because they're doing like Wii did with those New Play Control GameCube ports. They're likely to only do the top Wii U games, so we're not looking at literally 30 games coming over like people think, they're going to do it until development is far enough along, and the 3DS development moves over to Switch to fill in. We're likely only going to have 10 to 12, maybe 15 ports total.
@darkelf83: Wii U outsold every Sega system except Genesis, so think about that! And, unlike Dreamcast, it was actually profitable overall! http://www.dailygadgetry.com/wii-u-finally-profitable-nintendo/4637
@rmokeefe76: so the Sega Master System, Genesis, Dreamcast, were all failures then, because the profitable Wii U (http://www.dailygadgetry.com/wii-u-finally-profitable-nintendo/4637) outsold them. DAMN! Sega only had one success as a video game maker and 3 failures???
@so_hai: You must have the worst memory on the planet. The 3DS had the launch disaster, which is why they quickly lowered the price. The Wii U actually had an outstanding launch, it just couldn't hold up momentum due to the massive gap between releases. Sure, partly helped by being the holidays, but saying a launch disaster clearly shows you can't remember 2012 very well. What were you, 3 back then? http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/01/11/how-successful-was-the-wii-u-launch
@Sepewrath: no, because one year later and Switch sales are DOWN 70% year-over-year in Japan! They went from 300,000 a week in March of 2017 to 30,000 a week in March, 2018. That's the problem with you kids, you grew up in the Playstation era when systems became multimedia machines, and don't realize for Nintendo it's games that sell systems, not systems that sell games!! The Switch will only do as good as good games, and Bayonetta 2 doing WORSE on Switch than Wii U shows it just wasn't a good game, that's why it did so poorly on Wii U!
This is the problem with the Playstation generation. You think systems sell games, and it's the other way around, GAMES SELL SYSTEMS! This is why Bayonetta 2 is tanking in sales, it's not a good game, it didn't sell well because it's on Wii U, it didn't sell well, because it's not a great game!!
