I bought the warranty back when I bought my system at launch and so far greatly regret it. . .It cost me $99 for 2 years from Best Buy and my system has run flawlessly.
Oh well, at least it didn't break down.

Just wondering, why is there next to no communication on Warhawk. . .In my opinion it is one of the weakest aspects of the game and why I enjoy tatical shoots much more than run and gun, they lend themselves more to teamwork.
I still really enjoy Warhawk, but 9 times out of 10 when I could really use some teamwork and communication I get nothing in return from the voicechat function. It would be nice when, for example, in capture the flag there are my self and two other Warhawks over the flag if we could acutally get some jeep or tank on the ground to grab the s.o.b. when we say, "guys the flag is completely covered, grab it now!" I typically get silence in return. The few times people actually communicate is when you own.
Anyone else have simialr problems?
Just a pet-peev of mine.
I liked it. It is not meant to be some semi simulation like Ghost or Rainbow Six though. Maybe that is just the kind of game you like and maybe you were expecting it to be like that (which i hate those kind of games, which is why I like warhawk). I don't see what the problem is with controls though they work fine to me, unless you are referring to the actual warhawk(plane) controls. Maybe you should start your own password protected game so no one else will join and just freely practice with the weapons and vehicles before you join a real game(like I did). If you still don't like it maybe this just isn't the game for you. There have been plenty of games that get much praise from everyone that I ended up just not liking at all. Agree completely. . .
But, I'm actually in the opposite camp as 'gamedude'. I was part of the Warhawk beta and didn't enjoy the game all that much. I too, love games such as R6V. . .I can't get enough. But, at the beginning of this week I finally decided to retire the old ps2 socom headset and grab a bluetooth. . .I was out shopping at the local mall and notice a buy 2 games get 1 free sale at toys 'r' us. So i walk in and decide to pick up a could games and grab warhawk because i need a bluetooth anyways. . .I absolutely love the game now. .. Albeit that I don't really do much other than fly the Warhawks, but that aspect of the game is great to me. I could take or leave the ground to ground combat, but love air to air, air to ground. . .To me that is more my style. . .Which I believe lends itself more to the semi-simulation type of game that I enjoy (Rainbow 6 Vegas, etc.)
I was in the beta and after some time playing the game I did not think I would be purchasing this game. Mainly, because it is not my style, I am more of a tatical shooter rather than a run and gun style player.
Well, last week I broke down and bought the game. I needed a new headset (my old ps2 socom set has just about had it) and thought, what the hell. . . I enjoyed the game mostly when I was testing it.
I have to say, I've only started playing the game about 2 days ago, but I can't get enough of it now. For some reason I love it more now than during the beta. I must say that I do not partake in many ground confrontations. . .I can't get enough of the warhawk planes. . .I've basically been playing the game as strickly a flight game. I love the dogfights in the air and can't get enough of giving ground support from the air when needed. I must say, however, that I get picked off pretty quickly when trying to help out in the air to ground situations. I can hold my own in the air to air stuff though.
Anyways, my 2 cents. . .It's a blast to play. I may venture onto the ranked servers tonight for the first time. I have a feeling I will be owned tonight.

My live-in g/f has really not found the excitment of video games since we meet back in the ps2 days (about 5 years ago). I'll still always remember when she first moved in, she would be half asleep and wake-up all parinoid at like 1 in the morning. "Who the hell are you talking to?" I would say, "Oh, sorry, I'm playing Socom and we just fragged some guy and blew up their base. . . it was sweet!" Then she would get all pissed and leave the living room and go to bed and then b!t(h at me for not coming to bed.
Girls, they just don't get it I guess.
But, I do believe that Rub-a-dub appeals to a lot of women. My mom and girlfriend love it. They can play that game for hours straight, which is beyond me.
Anyways, I would guess the Wii would have the most appeal.
I'm going off the board for this one, but I love it. . .NKL2K7. I haven't stopped playing it since I bought my system back in November! I think I am about 6 seasons into the franchise mode. GO SABRES!!!!
A close second is R6V though.
P.S. I'm ready for all of the hockey jokes/flaming of the Sabres. . . .
Honestly, its not what you want to hear, but it is completely up to you. I have a very different opinion then the guy above me.
I bought RFoM with my system back in November and have rarely played it since Feburary. I'm not a fan of the run and gun style and actually enjoyed the single player campaign mode more than the online (which is bass-ackwards for my usual preference). The game just sits there for me now because I bet the campaign mode on the hardest level and don't enjoy online much. . .That leave little to no replay value and a waste of $60 in my opinion.
I have enjoyed R6V much more than RFoM, mostly due to online gameplay. It is much more tactical and realistic, which I like. The players online seem to communicate more than in Resistance as well (even if you not in a clan as mentioned above). My advice would be to be sure you have a mic though. The single player was above average, but for this game, it is all about online.
I was a beta tester for Warhawk and enjoyed it, but honestly believe that even the $40 download fee maybe a bit overpriced. I am really on the fence about this game. I fear I will grow tired of the run and gun like I did for RFoM online, but the ground vehicles and warhawks are sweet. And a bonus is that I believe almost every ps3 owner will be getting this game, which means tons of people online.
Got a little long winded, but my overall advice would be to rent all three and decide for yourself. Everyone has a different type of game they like. I am probably in the minority selecting R6V over both RFoM and Warhawk, but to each their own.

You will be able to download the game to your system only. This game will not be avaliable to 'share' with five other consoles. Check it here.
