Classic. They’ve learned absolutely nothing. Oh well. There are too many good games these days. I don’t have time to waste on Ubisoft anymore. This sounds like a forever farewell from me.
@esqueejy: Understandable. I find KCD1 to be a 7 and KCD2 to be a 9 or even 9.5 so far. Avowed is not interesting enough to warrant a purchase from me. I love Pillars of Eternity and Obsidian games in general. Everything I see and hear about Avowed is mediocre. The gameplay itself sounds like the high point of the entire game, but everything else is a step down for Obsidian.
@ellp1985: imagine playing Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and being reminded of what a true RPG looks and plays like; then playing Avowed and realizing that it’s just an action game with a heavy narrative and some choices. There’s nothing wrong with being that kind of game, but the RPG factor is certainly lacking, especially in comparison to their other games.
Obsidian is also known for crafting excellent stories and characters, yet Avowed has neither worth remembering. I think it will still be a fun game if there is ever a time this year when not much else is out. However; if the story is boring, the characters are boring and the dialogue is boring, then it will be very hard for me to continue playing it mindlessly.
