I found the storyline to be quite good, but gameplay-wise it's just like Doom. Graphics as well, but that's to be expected from a game series that old. I'd also double check that what is available for download isn't only for the Mac, as I believe only Marathon 2 was ever released on the PC.

The Pros say nothing about the game content per-se, and that Pay-to-Play just convinced me to NEVER EVER buy that game. If this was Microsoft's idea of an incentive to make me buy Vista, they've failed miserably.

OpenGL FTW!

So I have both Flashpoint and the Resistance EP from way back when they came out. I want to replay them and just wondered if there are any other EPs after "Resistance"? Also I have heard there are so great mods for this game. What are the good ones and where can I get them?

Thanks

If I recall correctly, there were two expansion packs to Operation Flashpoint, namely Red Hammer and Resistance, of which Resistance is the newest. At least that's what came in the OFP Gold DVD.

This Soapbox column here on GameSpot lists Frets on Fire as being the game you're looking for. There's even a link to a YouTube video.

How is Infernal? I was disappointed with the demo, but the premise still sounds neat to me, and my third-person shooter collection is a bit low.mrbojangles25

Well, basically, the game is just like the demo. It's good enough to get in a bargain bin some time from now, but there's nothing to set it apart from, say, Serious Sam (except the acute lack of hordes of enemies and the cheesy feel). I enjoyed the graphics most of all, but you've already seen those if you've played the demo. The storyline is popcorn-B-action-movie-ish and the gameplay gets pretty repetitive, as in shoot some guys, flip a switch, use your Infernal powers to kill some bosses, flip some more switches and the game is over.

Don't take this the wrong way, however, Infernal is a good game if you're looking for a straight shooter that has gameplay close to Wolfenstein or Doom. Plus it's not buggy (I'm playing the EU version of the game).

Did they level after beating him?Spindry69

They probably even got his Epic Blue Jeans and T-Shirt from his wardrobe, not to mention the Kitchen Knife of Butchery that was in the dishwasher.

Boiling Point had some funny moments, such as the main character telling the chief of police of some South-American town "I'm a one-man counter-revolution". Che Guevarra probably rolled in his grave a couple of times...

When you say "3D Design", I'm automatically assuming you're talking about 3D modelling and texturing, so sorry if I'm wrong. Good, professional tools worth learning are, as a rule, both expensive and rather complex. Nevertheless, there's a ton of tutorials for all of them.

Currently, a lot of people use Maya and / or 3D Studio Max, which you can both find at Autodesk.com's website. As for sources from which to learn, if you prefer the methodical, step-by-step way of learning, go for books on Amazon.com. For a beginner, virtually any one of them should have a load of information, so those 20-odd bucks will be well spent. On the flip side, if you prefer learning some tricks and figuring the rest out, there are tutorial sites on the net, such as, for example, Tutorialized.com.

Do note that I'm talking here about professional tools, that are pretty much standard in the industry, and not about the myriad of more-or-less free alternatives. Many of those are good tools as well, but come nowhere near the feature list that 3D Studio Max and Maya have.
