i still remember playing Jak and Daxter and Ratchet and Clank on this thing, those were like my fave 2 game series to play on there. Just over all a fantastic game console, introduced a lot of new things to the gaming world, plus DVD and CD quality is still kick-ass quality.
It was a shame that this game wasn't so popular but u can't really base experience on popularity, once u make it GOTY, THEN people play it, they agree.
@sTyLnK You're right, plus I am pretty sure walking dead WAS actually rated higher than Journey, but it's more the reviewer who is reviewing the game. Nonetheless, both games were fab and I wish they would make sequels to BOTH of these games sometime in the future. Journey was probs the best mulit-player game I've ever played to, although sometimes I would have to disconnect and reconnect because some people would just go right ahead of me and do the puzzles themselves and wouldn't wait for me, but most people aren't like that in the game.
I just picked up the game Journey a couple days ago and played it and I must say, it is a truly diverse, immerse, compelling, unique and just all around gorgeous looking and sounding game. While being silent, the story that unfolds in the game is simple enough to follow with such light and beautiful mechanics which made gliding down banks of sand, flying through the air and completing little challenges alone or with an anonymous partner online with only a few blurt musical notes to communicate so unlike anything I have ever played. Just exploring the games world and discovering new places and new little challenges is just a blast and for whoever think that this should not have won game of the year, I may have to agree with u a bit there as well. But so what if this game won GOTY? A game doesn't have to be overly violent or mature to win, or have the highest content maturity rating and I'm not saying that a lot of people say it does, but keep in mind that what made this game good is that it was so different from all those other games out there and for those who think that an over violent or mature game HAS to have that stuff to be good, it doesn't, because it might not always bring u such a pleasurable experience as it did here in Journey with no combat or death compared to some other games with that stuff which were total crap. However, I do understand when people say they though GOTY was a little over put. The games length is approximate 2hrs and 48 mins off average and most people beat it in under 2hrs and 20mins. While being a good experience it was a bit upsetting that it wasn't longer, but it IS a game that u can play over. This game wasn't that popular either, it may have been a shock to some people thinking that titles like walking dead, far cry 3, mass effect 3, dishonered or halo 3 should have won, because they never got the chance to play the game. I really dont care much about this reason because I think that exclusive games should have the right for GOTY, but it also was only on the PS3, but just borrowing a ps3 or buying one is worth it for this game. If u don't have psn or dont want it, just play it single player and also, i checked and there is a retail release buyable in stores plus i think there is offline multi-player but I've never tried it.
Those are my thoughts on the game, but over all, pretty worthy title of GOTY if u ask me, play the game for urself :) in my opinion, it was amazing :) ...........
