My Coke Rewards update; 06-11-2007

In case you missed the previous blog post, I've decided to see if it is actually possible to accumulate enough points to actually obtain a Nintendo Wii through the My Coke Rewards program (and if they'll actually pay up). So far, approximately one month into the experiment, I currently have 384 of the necessary 6,250 points. At the current rate, I'll obtain my Wii just in time for Christmas 2008 (glad it's the system I'm least interested in...right now, at least).

Of course, I'm always looking for help. If you drink Coke products (the range is enormous) and you're not using the points, I'd really appreciate it if you took the time to PM the codes to me. I've found out that I really don't need to know what it came from...I can just make something up and it'll give me the points. Also, codes from 12-packs and 24-packs are gold, worth 10 and 20 points, respectively.

Big thanks to those of you who have helped me out already. You know who you are. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to buy another case of Diet Coke...

(Ladies and) Gentlemen, Lend Me Your Points!!!

I've decided to try something. Until recently, I haven't been able to find a Nintendo Wii in the wild anywhere. But they're listed as a My Coke Rewards prize...for 6250 points (of which I currently have 77). That translates into roughly $2,000 if one were to spend the actual money on it. Obviously, I'm not going to drink $2,000 worth of Coca-Cola products anytime soon.

So, here's you mission, should you choose to accept it...

-IF you drink Coca-Cola products, and IF you do not use the codes, please PM them to me. Codes come from 12 packs, 2 liter bottles, and 20 oz. bottles for sure. I'm not sure about anything else.

-If you have a cap from a 20 oz. or 2 liter bottle, please try to remember what it's from. Whenever a cap is entered, the site asks what it came from. I'm not sure what happens when you don't know the answer...I suspect a reduction from the normal three points a cap is worth.

Basically, I just want to see if I can rack up enough points to actually get the Wii. Any help I receive is greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

Finished The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (SNES)

Somewhere between enjoying the spring weather, getting addicted to iTunes, and starting to put my old band back together, I found time to finish The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. One of the all time classics. The review will be up soon...hopefully by the middle of the afternoon.

****EDIT****

Review's up...have fun.

Want to know more about the Pirate? Here's how!!

I'm not a teenager, nor am I emo.  But I do have a MySpace page.

It is set to "private" so if you want to see it, you have to be my friend.  If you want to add me, PM me here and let me know who you are because I generally deny requests from people I don't know (Weird Al Yankovic being the one exception...I added him).

The web address is over there.  It doesn't link, so you'll have to either cut and paste or type it into your address bar.

Let the flaming commence.

Finished Lego Star Wars (GCN)

Well, between sessions of Guitar Hero, I plowed my way through Lego Star Wars.  It was a fun game, but I didn't like it as much as a lot of people did, and my review reflects that.  It's written and posted.  Enjoy!

Another Bit of History

Here's the newest addition to my gaming museum...

TRS-80
Color Baseball and other accessories

I had to work to get this one.  The library where I work just did a massive carpeting project.  In preparation for the new carpet, we spent about a week and a half cleaning up old stuff.  This particular item was unearthed and, recognizing it for what it is, I asked if I could snag it.  The tech guy said no.

Fast forward to today.  The thing had been sitting for two months gathering dust.  So I asked my boss if she would be upset if it disappeared.  She had no problem with that, so it just happened to walk out of the library tonight.

At any rate, the price was definitely right.  I got it for FREE!!!  One of the perks of the job, I guess.

Finished Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (PS2)

I generally dislike platformers (my second most hated genre behind squad shooters), but I really enjoyed Jak and Daxter.  If you haven't played it yet, you ought to give it a shot.

You can actually get a 100% completion rating before you finish the final boss battle.  If you collect all the orbs, power cells, and scout flies, you'll receive the rating.  I guess that means it doesn't really mean much.

Anyway, the review is posted.  You know what to do.

Finished Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem (GCN)

Three playthroughs, got the final ending.

This game is the reason I bought a GameCube in the first place.  If I'm not mistaken, it didn't sell particularily well.  It's a shame because it really is a great game and a lot of people are missing out.  The sanity effects alone make it worth a try.

The review is written and posted.  It's a long one, mostly because there's so much to say about the gameplay aspect of the game.  Thanks for putting up with my long-windedness.
