This question does'nt really spoil anthing so, did anyone else play through most of the first act of the game without viewing the mission briefing first. My game just automatically skipped the briefing and i played through part of the game without really knowing why snake was there. Did this happen to anyone else, did you select the mission briefing from the main menu or is it supposed to play automatically before you start the game ?

My screen settings are set to 480p, anyway ive been doing a bit of research and ive found that nintendo released a update last year that aparently addressed some issues with component cables on pal wii's on lcd tv's. But to enable it you have to go into the operations menu and hold z, a and 1 or 2. It worked but only with certain games. Super mario world and SOR1 still dont work.

Im using a brand new lcd sammy 656 with official wii component cables. Its weird because when i load the games up i get a blank screen sometimes with sound sometimes without, if i press the wii home button i get the usual options and then i can see the game in the background but when i click close to return to the game i get nothing again. Maybe a fault with the tv but i thought id come here to see wether im missing a setting or something ?

Those people claiming MGO was toned down compared to mgs4 to make it run better online are flatout wrong. A recent batch of new mgs4 screens was posted yesterday along with the MGO screens and they look identical in terms of texture quality, lighting etc. There built on the same engine.

Imo the mgs4 engine has the potential to look spectacular instead of just good, theres just something missing atm, better lighting, better texture, nicer shadow effects maybe ?. A slight improvement in certain areas would make all the difference. Still a few months of dev time left and most polishing goes on at the end of development, im still holding out for a slight improvement. If it does'nt happen so be it, im still satisfied with how the game looks im just not blown away.

Im probally a minority in that i own a few decent games for the ps3 but im waiting until i buy a hdtv until i play /complete them. Games like uncharted which i started just to get a taster then banned myself from completing until i get a hdtv. Its just taking me longer than i intially thought to decide on a tv (well 5 months longer than i thought).

PS3 games still looks fanatastic on my sdtv im very impressed, but personally im waiting until i can complete them on a hdtv as they were originally intended to be played, having a hdtv or sdtv probally wont matter a difference on the game your playing and the lasting impression you get from it but to me just knowing im playing it at the best it can look makes a difference to me . Im fortunate in that my most wanted ps3 games have'nt been released yet which has'nt forced me into buying a hdtv yet. GTA4 and MGS4 have changed that though and must get one soon. Thats when my love with the ps3 will really kick off.
