The Imperials are the enemy in this game. Â They made a pact with Daedric Prince Molag Bahl to combine their forces with his undead army to conquer Tamriel.

So i know the sysreqs for The Old Republic and ive checked them on systemrequirementslab. Supposedly my graphics card isnt good enough to play it but somehow it meets if not exceeds all of the features under the Video Card section on systemrequirementslab. Here's what it said:
Required You Have
Video RAM 256 MB 825.2 MB
Pixel Shader version 3.0 3.0
Vertex Shader version 3.0 3.0
Do you think my computer will be able to run SWTOR even though i only have a NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE?
Typically the entire game world will be in 3D. This does include explosions and debris, however typically explosions, grass, and other particles are drawn as 2D "billboards" which can look kinda bad in 3D if it's on the screen long enough to notice it. Most games will set it up such that the world goes "into the screen" rather than "popping out", since this is usually less jarring for the user. The UI (life bars, radar, ammo counters, etc.) will usually be drawn so that it's "floating" on top of the game world which can look really cool.
The quality of the 3D definitely varies from game to game. One important aspect is making sure the parallax isn't too steep based on what's currently on screen and how far it is from the camera...if it's too steep, some things will "tear apart" (basically the images are too far apart in the right and left eye and your brain can't put the images together) which is a really uncomfortable experience. Newer games definitely do a much better job with this than some of the older ones.
If you do decide to go for a 3D TV, I would recommend going for a passive TV. The one we have at work causes much less headaches than the active TV's, and you don't have to buy ultra-expensive shutter glasses.Teufelhuhn
Thanks for the info. Im gonna wait a few years before i really think about getting a 3D TV. By then im sure they will be alot better quality than they are now.
Ive never played a 3D game before but id really like to try it out. To those of you that have, what aspects of the game are put in 3d? Is your character in 3d, do bullets and explosion debris fly past you, what parts of the setting are in 3d? Im definitely not getting a 3D tv until they make one that you dont need glasses for and the price is reasonable. Hopefully by then some game developers will have fine-tuned the 3D experience.
I love my 360 but it seems as if pc's are so far ahead of consoles when it comes to graphics/physics/map size/max player count/etc... Can we expect a new Xbox to be out within the next five years? If not, when?
Are you referring to the content of the text or the text itself? Cuz yes, either way i agree with you.
I want an mmo, but not like every other mmo. I want this game to be a first person mmo rpg. The main focus of the game will be the epic battles. So basically it will be like a LOTR style battle with your team consisting of hundreds to possibly thousands of soldiers, with each soldier being an actual human player. Youre just standing there on a huge battlefield, arrows and catapult boulders flying all around you, waiting for the cue to charge at the enemy. I want the battles to take longer than five minutes like in every other game; possibly lasting hours. If you choose to quit out before the battle is over you get penalized in some major way (Hopefully this will keep players from quitting right when your army needs you the most). You get special rewards/xp/upgrades based on how you fight in the battle. If you die, you die for good and you can no longer fight in that battle. Each of about 30 to 50 servers will have its own country on a larger continent, so basically its server vs. server. The top player in each server is the king of that country and makes all the tactical decisions for their country. Essentially to win the war you have to conquer the continent and defeat all the other countries. There will be no level cap for the servers so an army of five thousand could wipe out a country with an army of only a few dozen soldiers. To protect your country you can build defenses such as castle walls and catapults and then you assign however many soldiers you want (actual players) to defend the borders wherever you want. All of these resources cost your country money. You gain money by attacking other countries and looting their castles. If youre online and defending a castle and see an enemy army (again, actual players) approaching then you can either choose to defend your area with what soldiers are stationed with you or you can call for the king to reinforce you with more players. Each war will last a certain amount of time (months possibly) and once the war is over the cycle starts all over again; new kings will be crowned and you can join a different country if you want. Really this is alot like all those text based strategy games you see on the internet, but instead of clicking on a button and having a sentence popping up telling you that you defeated an enemy, you actually have to fight the enemy in first person combat with hundreds of other players at the same time. So will a game like this ever be made and if so, when? Ten years, twenty years, fifty years? And what hurdles will have to be crossed in order to make a game like this?
Who decides which game wins, us gamers or the critics who work for Gamespot? If it is us gamers, when and where do I place my vote?
Pretty much all of my most anticipated games are coming out this fall. Gears or War 3 is late September, Battlefield 3 and The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim are both early November, and Star Wars: The Old Republic will most likely come out sometime close to those releases. And no, im not getting Modern Warfare 3. The problem is as soon as i start playing one, i will get so immersed in it that i wont want to stop to switch to another until i have played that game to its full extent. I really want all of these games so which one should i get and start playing first?
I've noticed that several new games coming out have a stereoscopic 3D available for them including Crysis 2, Killzone 3, and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier. I was just wondering if you need a new 3D tv to view these games in 3D or if a normal tv was fine and as long as you have the glasses you could view the game in 3D on any tv?
