Becomes biggest-selling 360 game ever; one-in-three console owners purchase copy
Halo 3 has become the fastest-selling Xbox 360 game of all time - and the second-fastest selling game in UK history, behind GTA: San Andreas.
According to ChartTrack, Microsoft's UK installed based now stands at 1.4 million after less than two years on the market - meaning that one in three owners has already purchased a copy of Halo 3.
The release of Halo 3 has had a dramatic impact on sales of Xbox 360 hardware, doubling the previous week's sales to the highest level of 2007.
According to ChartTrack, the system even managed to outsell Nintendo's Wii for the first time in 26 weeks - a full half year.
"Prior to week 34, it's fair to say that Xbox 360 sales were verging on the unimpressive, but since Elite was released and the 360 price drop has kicked in, Xbox is outselling PS3 week-on-week." yeh the 360 is really stuggling. and this was before halo[QUOTE="snoz_dawg"][QUOTE="-Renegade"]how is it spin when the topic title reads "uk sales of ps3 and 360 neck-and-neck." this just shows how pathetic the 360 is doing in europe if it can't out pace ps3 even though in most countries it cost twice as less then ps3 and has a bigger game library.DeathIsARight
And it only took a price cut to do it.....Sad thing is the UK is the only country in Europe that wants the flopbox. Even game makers are thinking about not releasing games for the flopbox outside the UK. The flopbox 360 is dead in europe.
ps3 already dropped $50 in uk before xb360, and the 80gb ps3 comes with 2controller and two games .

20hoyrs cut scene or realtime ... what ever , no wonder it takes 4 disk.
There's an interview with Sakaguchi about Lost Odyssey in the latest Famitsu Xbox360, here are some details from 2ch posters who got the mag:
Story
- The game is about 40 hours long, 20 hours of which are taken up by event scenes or FMV. [Note: This goes against what Ray Nakazato said back in May, which is that there were 6 hours of realtime cutscenes and 1 hour of FMV]
- There is a high density of events, the idea is that instead of having fight after fight, there is event after event.
- Sakaguchi is especially excited that the game will feature many, many event scenes that take place between the party members, adding to the character development and relationships.
- There will be a scene that very realistically depicts what a real funeral is like.
- He feels that Lost Odyssey's approach is very different from FF. LO focuses heavily on strong human emotions and drama.
Gameplay
- The MS Briefing portion that Sakaguchi played is the first dungeon.
- Kaim's lifetime of 1000 years is "lost" from amnesia. This is a plot device that also allows them to strip all his skills so he can slowly remember them for use in battle.
- There are 9 party members in total, and you can set the front and back rows.
- The trigger timing for physical attacks can add special properties to the attack.
- Equipment-wise there's only weapon, ring and accessory.
- The encounter rate is low, instead you're supposed to grow stronger from each series of fights.
- There will be a world map, with a vehicle to move around in it.
Dream of 1000 Years
- Regarding the Dream of 1000 Years, Sakaguchi hopes that people that do not usually read novels or books take the time to read these short stories.
- The Dream of 1000 Years short stories are just text.
- They're presented in short 5-10 min segments of text with no voice but with BGM.
- There are 34 of these short story episodes in total.
- After the release of the game, the short stories will also be compiled into a book form and sold.

Dunno.. Maybe your TV?
No, you're kidding yourself if you actually believe the game looks that smooth.
It's actually because these aren't in-game shots. They're shots taken in screenshot mode....which significantly smooths the image out. It doesn't just use a real-time framebuffer dump, because those shots would look like garbage.
The image is rendered at a higher resolution that normal when screenshotted, and some form of high-sample AA (possibly even supersampling) is obviously applied too.
If such filters were used in-game, you'd likely see single-digit framerates.
you are misleading people ,sony fanboy.
halo3 screens is taken from reply mode , not like thePS2 game GT4. A special photomode. which render pics 1frame/1minutes.
in halo3 ,you can take pics from every angle of reply video.
[QUOTE="NitaraPwnzU"]As I said.. Maybe it is the TV..Velocitas8
It isn't. Anyone with eyes can see the huge amount of jagged edges at 720p.
The game has NO anti-aliasing.
