@hystavito @deathBRINGER201 Truth. For some reason, people can't accept that not everyone sees things the same way or has the same tastes.

@RoachRush I have to disagree. Destiny has about as much diversity in it's mission design as any other shooter. You spend about 80% of your time shooting your way through enemies to get to an objective, with the occasional vehicle spree or separate mission type to shake things up here and there. Destiny's gameplay really shines with the diversity of it's actual combat. The AI, at least on Hard which is the only mode I've played, is impressive. Not only do the individual enemies use strategy to fight you, but they actually act as groups. And each race uses different tactics.

As for the bosses being damage sponges, that's true. But most bosses in RPGs and MMO's are damage sponges.

@crusaderprophet @jts1891 When did I say that? I just said by the logic you're using, which is that all the classes in Destiny are 'almost the same' because they only involve 'killing enemies with different animations', that ME classes would also be considered to be 'all the same'.

@Utnayan @Wizard8154 @Max_Rage Just out of curiosity, what did you think Destiny lacked in particular? I enjoyed the story, and I found the in-game lore to be interesting.

@crusaderprophet @jts1891 By that logic, every class in ME is the same, since it merely gives you different ways of killing enemies. The animations aren't the only difference. Each super requires entirely different strategies to use effectively.

@crusaderprophet @jts1891 Then you haven't played them. Fist of Havoc is an AOE attack that kills any enemy in range, from one person to the entire opposing team. Nova Bomb is the same. Arc Blade, however, is entirely different. It grants you increased damage resistance for it's duration, and gives you a powerful melee attack that let's you close the distance between yourself and your opponents extremely quickly. Golden Gun, like the rest of the Gunslinger class, is centered around precision and doesn't force you to use it up in one quick burst like Nova Bomb or Fist of Havoc. You can take out one or two enemies in one area, move to another, and take out more there. If you miss one shot, you didn't waste it, unlike Nova Bomb.

@mdkaskey @jts1891 @Tsuchikage I think that's a common experience, really. Personally, I enjoy both forms of storytelling, so I didn't have a problem with it. But a lot of people were expecting a more Halo-esque narrative, and were disappointed when they didn't get it. I think that's largely what's behind the negativity toward Destiny I see on the net.

@crusaderprophet @jts1891 That was a single example, you didn't even address Sunsinger. Bladedancer is also extremely different from other classes, as it encourages stealth play by giving you invisibility with bonuses to hitting enemies from behind. Heck, even Gunslinger is different. The entire class revolves around granting massive buffs for scoring precision kills. The only two classes that are overly similar are Striker and Voidwalker.

@crusaderprophet @jts1891 @smokeless_0225 @ditronus I've played ME3. What does that have to do with my point? There is a massive difference between each class. Defenders, for example, don't have an offensive super. They create shields that can buff allies, blind enemies if they enter etc. Sunsinger has similar buffing abilities with it's super, increasing the cool down times of all your allies abilities, or allowing you to revive yourself.

@mdkaskey @jts1891 @Tsuchikage That's was largely intentional, though. While Destiny isn't a true RPG, it does have RPG elements and like many games in that genre, Destiny largely leaves the history, personality, motivations etc. of your character up to you. Skyrim is a pretty good example of this.
