@Dragon_Nexus @jts1891 That is what he implied. 'It can have a very detrimental effect'. People like him have attempted to use video games as a scapegoat for violence for the last decade and a half.
Move along. This is just another politician adding his own baseless opinion without providing any support for his assertions. If Video Games were as 'corrosive' as he and is ilk in the US like to claim, half the United States would be going around raping and murdering and blowing shit up.
It's a bit amusing. For all the people who claim COD is 'shit', it's still one of the best selling series of all time. If it was really 'killing' the industry, it wouldn't sell at all.
@frozenux I know, right? It's perfectly fine to assassinate people in gruesome ways in Halo, but when someone shows off a little skin, it's the end of the world.
@MrMilkmann @johnpombrio @jts1891 Pretty much. It's amusing that the Kinect sold well at first, only to find an utter lack of software that effectively used it if at all.
@johnpombrio @jts1891 Time? They don't that either. At least when Nintendo pushed forward with the Wii, they actually had the software to show that it had potential.
If they can't show -why- gamers should spend 100$ more on a console with a device with a suspect future, the X1 is going to suffer.
@johnpombrio @jts1891 Not really. They've had their chance to show off the Kinect's 'abilities' since they revealed the console, and yet we haven't seen a single game that actually takes advantage of it to make it worthwhile. Even Ryse, which was originally made specifically for Kinect, gave it up.
