I'm usually more on the side of artists with these things, but for one 40-year-old song among hundreds that will play on the in game radio every now and then, that seems like a fair offer to me. The industry was different when this guy was a part of it, and the reality of modern music is you don't make a whole lot off songs anymore.
Props to Velan for releasing the private server version of Knockout City. There's a fan made launcher that will connect you to a somewhat active community as well. And if that dies, you can still create your own server and play a bot match.
That should be the industry standard when shutting these games down.
@freedom01: Looks awesome. I've been waiting years for modern rereleases of CvS2, Project Justice, and the Power Stones, and Capcom puts them all in one convenient package, along with a few other games as a bonus.
@plurmp: Well, they are posting a ton of articles about the game, which tells me people are clicking on them. And that is how IGN makes most of their money.
@hardwenzen: Considering all the articles and guides they have been posting about it, I'm sure they are crying into fistfuls of add revenue this game is generating for them.
