@LiquidGold Very colourful language, but has no relation to the actual facts. You go buy XB1 if you like it so much. Choice is a wonderful thing. But me and the other 80% will be having fun on the powerful PS4 while your crying into your spycam.

@johnpombrio Wishful thinking on your part. But in reality investors will be lining up to lend Sony money based on a possible 80% market lead. They always back a winner. Sony are now in a position they cannot fail. Self fulfilling prophesy. It is MS that are now in danger of loosing vast sums of money due to a situation they created themselves.

@lo266 If XB1 is trending in front of 360, then that just highlights how much support there is for PS4. PS4 is obviously trending way more than PS3 at launch.

That 20% is very bitter. I can see them flooding in right now. Desperately retaliating to try and regain some pride by trashing Sony, when their anger should really be focussed on the company that created such a sad mismatch. Both companies are in it for the money. It's not a charity. Just buy the best console and shut up.

How does this guy know there will be more XB1 launch units. Truth is he doesn't. He is an analyst. Analysts make intelligent guesses not issue hard facts.

When your console is trailing in the pre-orders due to a failed launch and you're up against a console that looks far more powerful, what do you do. You try to steal sales by paying some analyst a back hander to speculate that there will be PS4 shortages, hoping stragglers will switch to XB1 to make sure they can get hold of a next gen console at launch.

Dirty old MS is at it again. If you cannot run fast enough in a race, smack your apponent in the knee caps ...lol

@Venom_Raptor I agree it does sound like a dead end function to be considering, but research has to think outside the box and look at every possibility. That is why Sony are good at design. They consider everything and thoroughly evaluate it's usefulness before coming to a final decision. Quality does not come cheap. At last they had the sense to dump it.

MS is still bragging about Kinect reading your heart beat. Totally useless apart from impressing non gaming friends who haven't got a clue.

@pinky08_09 @justerthought Before you can attach any significance to consoles selling out, you need to know how many where actually available to be sold. Again, rumours suggest that Sony are in a position to manufacture far more units than MS. So if both sell out, Sony will have sold more and have a larger user base, diminishing MS prospects for the future.

Also, if Sony have 4 models and they sell out. That could be 4 times the amount sold by MS, but again we cannot tell until we know how many units are available for sale.

The only indicator we have right now that has any credibility are user votes of intension, where they are showing a preference for one or the other that could translate into a purchase. If the swing is huge in one direction, you can almost guarantee that it will translate into sales. And that is what I am seeing. Not a slight swing either way. A crushing dominance of around 80% in Sony's favour globally. No console can survive that if it is not turned around pretty sharpish. You may not like it, but that is democratic capitalism :)

@pinky08_09 You just confirmed what I said. Yes MS took US and UK off Sony in current gen and held a majority. That is well known. But MS appear to have lost the UK now to Sony for next gen. That just leaves MS holding the US now. The US is their 'last stand' because Sony is now aggressively targeting the US with the PS4. If Sony win outright, MS may go the same way as Sega.

This worldwide poll mirrors what we are seeing from others sources: http://www.xboxonevspsfour.com/

Click the statistics link top right of page to see how each country is panning out. If you don't think MS are in deep trouble, you've got you head in the sand.

Whether Sony succeed all depends how patriotic the US players are when given the choice to buy US or Japanese. Those countries that have no patriotic allegiance to the US have all chose PS4 as the better console proposition. That is the picture that is emerging, like it or not.
