Well i have installed the game and indoors it runs like a dream even on maxed out settings!!!!! Although when im outdoors i tend to have a performance loss. So i followed the above guide and made some changes like removing Softer Shadows and Point Lighting. This helped a lot and now the game runs.....ok. But im not sure if its the game design or my Graphics card, ("7800 GTX 256MB"), the SHADOWS they hmm flicker while moving and do not look like shadows to be honest. I have encountered this before but as of this moment i can not remember where! Anyhow its distracting and takes me away from the immersion damn it. So reading yacbos Post below im gonna put mine on MEDIUM Shadows sighhhhhhh and play...Oh and im liking the game so far very good stuff at the mo im a Rogue Char but i want to be an Assassin but that means i have to become Evil whohahahhaha lets see!
I have just got this game...After reading some of the comments here and reading a PC Gamer Review, PC Zone Review, GS Review, and some of the reiviews provided by people/users of GS, I thought I would take a chance. I read all the comments posted here last night and i have to agree with darrenecm point of view. I have thought much the same way as you, about PC Games for the last year. Well i have a nice system consisting of a Geforce 7800, Dual Core 4800 AMD, 2GB Corsair, and a Quick Harddrive. I am prepared for problems and when i brought the game i asked the Shop Assistant on there return policy, to my surprise after 7 days i can return the game. After the Oblivion mess, IE to get the most out of that game i spent hours messing with settings etc im not looking forward to doing the same again but hey i have a return option and im going to give it a try if its anything like Baulders Gate or Icewind Dale ("Fingers Crossed"), I will love the game. If anyone gives a .... i will post my impressions of the game and how my system copes. If all fails and the game has a low FPS on my ....expensive system........You will know.
Stop complaining the load times arent that bad, and when the Handheld plays a game like Tekken and GTA so well its hard to fault it on such trivial and little things.....If u wana highlight a problem try the D pad and Joystick both lack in response. + Like you say GS it has a Standby mode and to be quite honest in my opinion this excuses the long load times in most cases. glaukus u have the right to your opinion but christ...I quote "and honestly I think this is something appropriate up to the age of 16", are you some kind of idiot? No dont answer that i know the answer. Your a Gameplayer or at least i think you are and you say somthing like that....so PC Games are for 16 year olds as well are they ? hmmm
Great stuff thanx GS..................Who ever called this nerd cra. i cld ..... .. ...... ... It's so us PC owners can get a bit more outa of our systems so get a life and get off the PC board. I know how to Overclock a GPU easy as pie but i could never figure if i was doing my Processor correctly.....always a warning about the IDE Bus or something would come up plus i would rather do things in BIOS..... Software on Windows i swear dose not work most the time when it comes to this stuff.
Hmmm could a scratch or other damage make a drastic difference when trying to run a Xbox game on the 360 this could explain some problems. Like Fable freezing at the bandit camp etc .......
