As a long time GS frequenter, I have long enjoyed reading and watching the many reviews that go up on this site. I rarely post, but find the need today. Many of you who post fail to see the real issue here. Whether or not you liked Jeff is not the issue. Whether or not you liked his reviews is not the issue. What the real problem hereis an issue ofhonesty and integrity.
If GS can no longer provide us with honest reviews out of fear for their jobs, why visit? If CNet does not have the integrity to let its emplyoyes, who's job it is to provide us with their OPINIONS, perform their duties without terminating them because of conflicting interest, why visit?
Imagine that you were an editorial writer for a localnewspaper. Lets say you wrote your sunday column about how you and your family visited a new resturant and recieved horrible service. Your editorial may be harsh about the newly establised resturant, but fully justified in as it is only your opinion. Later that day your publisher lets you know that you've been terminated. It seems that the new resturant spent quite a lot of money advertising in the local paper. Could you imagine reading the same newspaper again knowing its policies?
This whole debacle is also a double edged sword in a sad way. I really REALLY hope that Jeff was not fired because of the review, because that would be the end for me and GS. But I also wouldn't like to see him fired in general.
I digress, remember the real issue here everyone, GS's reliability. Thats why we need to know what happened. Because if this is true, I will not be back.

great speech man, i agree 100%. we still don't have full proof whether or not this is true, but what you say is at stake. whats this say of their other reviews?
