The 6800 solved the problem for me. Such a long time ago. By the time BF3 comes out, there will probably be a next gen of graphics cards.

Sony is only making things worse. In the short term, they beat down a jailbreak. In the longterm, people are going to disregard whatever happens. Once the real hackers start hacking, then Sony will be in alot of trouble. Real hackers as in people who are so skilled in covering up their tracks that even the best snoops struggle at finding a faint teace. Hollywood and the music industry gave up trying to track down these people. So they turned to iTunes and Netflix.

This is more of a European problem than an American one. The European Union has a relatively fresh military and Libya is right across from Italy. If we sit around doing nothing, the rebels will hate us. If we get involved, Qaddafi's supporters will hate us. It is a lose-lose scenario.

The 3 GB GTX 580 is primarily for people with large monitors or surround setups. The screen space is so high that the 1.5 GB 580 was not enough for three 1920x1200/1080 monitors or higher. By doubling the memory, in SLI you have a staggering 6 GB of memory to pump up the resolutions. Itndoesn't really pay to have a GTX 590 or whatever as the price per performance will be horrible. The GTX 580 maxes out every single game out right now for the majority of people.

Hmm, probably my Corsair 850TX power supply. It isn't modular so it is a PITA doing cable management. And I guess my Antec 1200. It is a good case but a PITA to clean out the dust filters. Apart from that, I am a pretty cautious and well inforked buyer so I don't have too many regrets.

sony will handle this asap and end it once and for all imho

Timstuff

These aren't your average run of the mill hackers. These are people who have plagued PC piracy for not only games but music and movies. They find it fun hacking and cracking stuff. iPhone OS released? Boom, 24 hours later there is a jailbreak. And I'm sure that many people here preaching against hackers have jailbroken iPhones. Unless Sony opens up the PS3 to homebrew and whatnot, the war has only just begun.

Why would Sony open the PS3 to homebrew? That is like if a hoodlum is beating on your car window trying to break in, and you unlock it for him so that he can drive away with your car without breaking your window. Yeah, your window isn't broken, but you gave the car thief exactly what he wanted, and now you don't have a car so it doesn't even matter if your window is broken.

WP7 opened up because of the homebrew community. There comes a point when a company realizes "Gee, there are thousands of these guys cracking all our stuff in hours. Maybe we should hear what they have to see." Apple continues to ignore jailbreaking. Perhaps Sony will adopt a Apple stance and just ignore jailbreakers.
