@green_scorpion @kagento Ye, I don't buy any of these things, but the problem is that there is a large amount of users that actually buy the stuff anyway. As soon as there is a game that people want badly enough they won't really care about new or not... they'll just have to wait for the bargain bin.
Personally, I don't normally buy 2nd hand cause I prefer that developers receive part of the money. Of course, you just can't get all the new games (unless you shit gold).
I just fear that an extension of this no 2nd hand game will mean longer price drop times and/or more expensive games.
The thing is... users wouldn't buy a closed system if they had a choice... but what if they don't? i have the feeling that it could be initially deterring but, as with most crazy shit this industry pulls off on its' userbase, it would eventually become the norm.
DLCs? Online passes? DRM? All outrageous but there nonetheless...
@Kaz32 In the end, it's all about opinion, but I will tell you this: I have been a long die hard fan of the series and have played all installments, being RE5 the last. RE5 for me was already a very big disappointment but, at least, I thought they had finished with the story. After I started seeing RE6 gameplay and general reviews, I lost all interest in it...
They might have brought new fans to the table, but they have lost most of the fans that made RE into a system seller.
@Suikogaiden Liberal media??? Go back to China?? Mate, this is just bad politics and uninformed opinion being discussed. And seriously, defending the nra takes some courage...
Damn... Why no one shows interest in Vigil baffles me... Despite not being the highest seller, Darksiders as a franchise has created quite a following. True, current sales are slightly over 1M units for the second installment, and that can be considered a disappointment, but one of the biggest problems THQ has had in my opinion is visibility... Im sure the spent loads of money in marketing, but I think that some people miss the title because they consider it too "God of War related" and not an original concept.
Here goes for a last minute buyer... Please, rescue Vigil!
Although it looked like THQ was turning for the better, its' failure was easily predicted. Concentrating on new efforts and not having a cracker to support possible inversion risks which they took anyway has led them into a very delicate position. I really hope all the internal studios survive and that their projects continue on. I hope Vigil gets to continue the Darksiders franchise, which could be really big if given a larger push; CoH2 is gonna be awesome, whoever gets the rights for it has a winner; I was actually curious to see what will come out of South Park; and Metro... easily my most anticipated game this next year with Bioshock Infinite.
One question for whoever bothers: Why does EA produce so much hate? All publishers milk the cow one way or another, but some interesting games have come out of EA too.
