I'm not going to lie, I'm not the most hardcore gamer. I play games for the experience and the entertainment...so sometimes, if a game is too hard, I'll just put it on easy just so I can get through it and return it to Gamefly (Or sell it on Amazon)
But there are some games where I say screw it, and don't even finish it. I sometimes look up the ending on youtube or whatever. Here are a list of some of those games:
Heavenly Sword - I got to the last boss, got to the third part of the battle, tried to beat it for like a week then said screw it.
Call of Duty 4 - It took me so long to carry that legless bastard into the airplane that I played this game for about a year without ever finishing it. I was thinking of turning it in to get full value before COD5 comes out...but then I just had to see the ending....so eventually I did beat it, but it took me a year.
Shadows of the Colossus - I thought there were only 9 Colossi....after I found out there were more, I said screw it.
Ratchet and Clank Up Your aresnal - I tried to go back and play all the ones I didn't play....but the game makes me feel like a 4 year old at times...so I said screw it!
Flow.......am I supposed to beat this game?
Pixlejunk Monsters - after like the 6th level I just gave up. Awesome game tho
Burnout Paradise - I spent all of my time on Burnout Revenge...doing it all over again in paradise just wasn't that appealing to me
And Finally........GTA 4!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - I know...I just dont get it...I mean...after a certain point I just stopped caring...it's a great game, ...but I literally felt my life wasting away while I was playing it.
Honorable mentions (Assassins creed - Took me 7 months cause I stopped caring. I'm glad I eventually finished it tho!) Metal Gear Solid 4 - Still haven't beaten it...I have take out like 6 hours of my day to play one chapter...I just haven't had the time to finish it!)
resident evil has one of the greatest stories ever what the hell are you talking about?GatCloudX
I believe this too. However, the Dialogue is very corny. Go back and watch the RE4 review on Gamespot and they will tell you that it's one of the only things they found wrong with the game.
I think the next game to earn a 10 for the PS3 will be God of War 3. It's kind of sad because after MGS and God of War, there aren't any more game that I absolutely HAVE to have. Resistance 2 will be a good game, probably get a 8.7 or a 9, but I'm not DYING to play it.
Uncharted 2, Ratched and Clank 2 (For the PS3) are going to be awesome games, but I don't know if any of them will get 10's.
As far as non-exclusives go, I think Assassins Creed 2 may have a chance if they make a few simple adjustments from the last game.
And RE5 won't get a 10 because of the corny story. Capcom always has corny stories, especially in the RE series, so it will probably get around a 9.5. But of course, to me, it will be a 10....just like RE4 was in my opinion.
When do they come out? What a mishandled situation...everyone is going to be playing GTA 4 instead of COD4 with the new map packs. 360 has had them forever. are they available now? WHEN????

I know more people are like me. I'm not a nerd, or a loser, I am a regular guy. I just love playing video games, sometimes more than hanging out at a club and spending 15 bucks for a jack and coke. I know other people are the same as me.
People think that video game obsession is only reserved for losers with no gf's, coke bottle glasses, and no social lives, but its simply not true. It's a personal choice. Just as there are next gen consoles, there are next gen gamers who are regular people that get sucked into this "community". And it makes me very happy, as well as other aspects of my life. Is there anything wrong with that?
[QUOTE="kevinlamar"][QUOTE="rpgfreak15"]This is a legendary thread. I agree with you TC. The point of life is to be happy. Honestly, i couldn't agree more.rpgfreak15
I think this is the most important thread that Gamespot has ever had. Regardless of what you think of my "problem" this thread made a lot of people look into their own lives and see what role video games play in general.
I love my girlfriend, of course, but when it comes to doing things like hanging out, going to the club, or going to the gym, sometimes I'd much rahter just play Ratchet and Clank for the 2nd time around. Or play MLB The show for a couple of hours and call it a night. The saddest part about this whole thing is that I'm not a freak, or a weirdo. I do have a lot of friends, and I live right next to a college campus so there is always something to do, but nothing is more enjoyable to me than playing my PS3!
I think people have an idea in their heads of a helpless loser with coke bottle glasses that has no friends and was always picked on in school, but just like there are next-gen consoles, there are next-gen gamers that choose to play COD4 online all night instead of going to the bar and spending 15 bucks on a jack and coke. We are not alienated from society, we are not social outcast; it is a simple choice that we make. It all comes down to preference. I think more people are like me than they wish to admitt.
It's scary to understand how real this is. I also have a ton of friends, i'm not a loser, i don't do any drugs or smoke, i work in a family business, i'm not a dumbass (good grades)...in the end i'm a normal person, just like most of you. The feeling i get just to enjoy a video game on any console or in any way is really simple, i just enjoy it. I would rather play COD4 or Burnout Paradise than go partying, hanging out on the 'streets' and what not, even sometimes going to a movie with my buddies. I mean i do tons of activities that a normal person would do. I like the way the TC brings this kind of unique topic to all gamers, thank you!
I gotta get used to people calling me TC, over on the ESPN forums, it's OP (original Poster). Anyway, I'm glad that other people are the same as me. I didn't make this post as a cry for help, or to look like a pathetic nerd, I did it to show people that even though you may laugh at me, or other people like me, a lot of people are the exact same as me. It's just the simple truth.
We've created a sub-culture, we have headsets, we have "Communities" and "Friends" that we can add. Doesn't this show you that the world of video games is more than just a simulated realitiy for some people, not just obsessive people, but regular gamers as well.
How many hours do you dedicate to video games? Doesn't the anticipation of something as simple as the PSN update rival that of any other kind of monetary material gain acquired? Do you find yourself getting excited to come home and play your PS3 for a couple of hours? It's an escape, it's an outlet, and it can become an obsession.....I don't know if i'm at that level yet, I hope I'm not, but I can't deny that it does make me truly happy. (As well as other things in my life). It's something to think about.
