Yeah I've heard this game isn't large scale warfare. A real MMOFPS was Planetside, this isn't.zomglolcats

Right now it does have 16vs16 battlefields which they plan to expand to 32vs32 up to 128vs128.

If youre buying the computer now... then its fine, if youre going to wait a few waits, you rather wait for the i5s. the i7 920 and 950 are going to be replaced by the i5 models, also there is no guarentee intel are going to use the same socket for their 6 cores.

I'd say you go amd, the phenom IIs are pretty good and cheaper... phenom II x4 955 be is pretty much the same if not better than the i7 920, also the motherboards are cheaper.

one more thing... for a resolution like 1680x1050 you dont need a gtx 275, you can get away with gtx 260 or hd 4870.

just somethings to consider

As we've mentioned several times before, the 32nm Gulftown 6-core (or hexa-core) chip will launch in 1H 2010 as the first chip in the Westmere family, the successor to Nehalem. Intel Core i9 will appeal to a highly enthusiast market niche, as it is based solely on socket LGA 1366 and retains compatibility with the X58 chipset which isn't going anywhere in the foreseeable future.

Nice, I've been interested in this game from the moment i heard from it, but it kinda disappeared from the radar a few years and now its finally back and on his way to the release. I rly wanna know how its turned out now, maybe I'll buy it if it plays properly, I'm gettin kinda bored of all those WoW mmo's.

custerke

Actually, the game is going to be Free 2 Play through ijji. They are going to keep it running by using an Item Mall.

According to GM_Dak the item mall won't contain any game altering items like better equipment, only apperal.

Hi all,
For the final 2 days of Huxley testing we are opening the server to everyone for a large-scale stress test. As of right now, all non CBT testers can log in to http://huxley.ijji.com/cbt.nhn and download the client. Then tomorrow from 11am - 10pm PST they can get a character set up and try to make it into your faction's main City. Finally, 8/12/09 from 3pm - 7pm PST, we want as many people online as possible at one time. This will be our final test of the servers before we go back down to digest and implement all the great feedback and suggestions from CBT2 before Open Beta.

So please get set up on 8/11 from 11am - 7pm PST, and get everyone you know to play on 8/12 from 3pm - 7pm PST. Thank you!

I've been playing since the closed beta started in July. It's a really interesting game.

DO NOT CAME TO THIS GAME THINKING IT IS GOING TO BE REALISTIC

THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A SHOOTER THAT MIMICS UNREAL TOURNAMENT TYPE GAME PLAY

They've announced that the i7 will now focus on workstation tasks, and that the i5 will be better suited to gaming needs. sure, the i7 might not be useless in gaming, but while you're at it, go buy a workstation gpu and hook that up.

Nibroc420

I don't know where you got that idea.... The i5s are going to be meant for the mainstream market whereas the i7 and i9 lineup is meant for the extreme gamer and overclocker. The i7s and i9s are going to be binned higher than the other line ups, so if you want a nice OCing CPU, you gotta go LGA-1366.

As said, depends on the motherboard. It also depends on the chipset mostly that the motherboard has.

A friend on another forum asked me to put together a component list for a PC for $1500.

Well, this is what I put together.

CPU - Core i7 920
RAM - OCZ Platinum DDR3-1600 3x2GB
MoBo - Foxconn FlamingBlade GTI
GPU - XFX GTX 275
PSU - Corsair 750TX
Case - Cooler Master RC-690
HDD - Western Digital 640GB
Optical 1 - Lite-On Blu-Ray Reader
Optical 2 - LG DVD Burner w/LightScribe
OS - Windows Vista Home Premium x64 w/Windows 7 Coupon
Monitor - Acer X223Wbd 22" 1680x1050 LCD
Keyboard - SteelSeries Merc Stealth

Total is $1,502.06 with S&H. He wanted a Monitor and a Keyboard, but no mouse. I throw in that keyboard because of personal preference and it's what I use for my main gaming rig.
