Wow, what a crappy score. Whatever, I bought X1 to play Halo and now I got it and couldn't be happier. I'm confident MS will get the online fixed, in the meantime these four campaigns are fresh again at 60fps. Screw the reviews, it's a fun game and haters be damned!
@bonafidetk Not sure how as a gamer you could be happy that one of the most ambitious games in history missed its mark. Did Activision do something to your family?
Oh man, what a damning score. A few comments/concerns about the review...
-I don't speak for everyone but if a shooter's control and gameplay is fun, I couldn't care less about the story. I've played every Halo game to death and could hardly tell you two bits about the story, because that's not why I play.
-I think the missions in pretty much all shooters are very repetitive at the end of the day. I wanna hear more about the multi-player component. It's human player death-matches that make shooters have replay value. Does Destiny not have death-matches?
I agree. This is 2014. If 1993 Sega Saturn games could do 60fps, why not machines today? The trade-offs for 30fps (higher polygon counts, resolution etc) are never noticeable, but frame rate is always noticeable.
"Smedley then went on to describe how H1Z1 is different because it lets players build structures, forts, and towns to protect themselves from zombies."
Sounds more like they should be asked about the similarities to State of Decay than DayZ.
Why even mention the campaign story in the review... there's no campaign! This is a multi-player only game, personally I could care less what the story is. Does anyone even know the story?
Ok for one generation (PS3/360) crossplatform games looked basically the same, every single generation before that there was always a difference between crossplatform games and it was never a news story. And now one company decides to do something different finally with Kinect and the games look slightly better on Sony's machine and everyone is freaking out. This has gotta stop. Most of these games that look "worse" on Xbox One still look pretty good.
