Islam is also a geopolitical system, and that part of it has no right to Constitutional protection.

The mosque is a place of religious worship. You can say you believe that Islam is not a religion (and I find that disturbing as well as factually incorrect) but that doesn't matter. It is a place of religious worship for a religious group. If it is not protected than neither should churches.

I actually never stated we are. I said a Christian theocratic law (Marriage HAS to be between men and women because God said so). It has no real basis outside of religion and it is not a secular belief to me. As such it should be purged. It does not belong in our society.

We were living peacefully together before the issues of gay marriage and the mosque came up. It's those issues themselves that have caused such controversy.

Then how are you being tolerant if you think anyone with a different opinion from yours is wrong? Tolerance also mean the ability to perceive that either side can be wrong, or even partly right.

A truly tolerant person will consider both sides before making a conclusion.:)
