[QUOTE="kipohippo021"] when the real problem is in the mind. If you think its a big enough deal, then get therapy.rawsavon
Do you have a degree in psychology :? Because some people really do have one ***ed up feature, and fixing that changes their whole outlook on life. (yes, some people do have body image issues...but that is not for you to say as someone without the credentials to do so)

I have pectus exarvatium, look that up. Thats alot more than a big nose and im not complaining. If i can overcome that, than anyone can overcome a big nose.

[QUOTE="kipohippo021"][QUOTE="rawsavon"] ANYTHING you buy beyond what is necessary to survive is a luxury. It is all about what provides you with the most 'value' (as determined buy you). -some people spend 20,000 on car...some people spend 16,000 on a car and $4,000 on a nose job -it is all about what provides you with the most value/utility We are ALL wasteful...to say otherwise is hypocriticalrawsavon
But you can cure your need for a new nose, i cured my need for cosmetic surgery. Its in the mind. Sure you dont need a tv or a car, but it makes things easier for you. Even so, if you wanna spend more, i still belive its a waste, i try to spend as little as possible on stuff.

TV does not make your life easier...it is a want...same as nose If the nose makes him feel 'good' it could be argued that it is less wasteful than a TV that does nothing but waste time You are trying top assign your view of what is 'valuable' to the TC ...that seems pretty high and mighty to me...it is all about what is valuable to him, not you We all waste...it is not for you to judge someone else's wastefulness until you no longer waste money yourself

again, self image is in the mind. You can overcome it. You dont need to spend money on it, its the cowards way out.

Ok well he can either fix something on his face that he has to live with the rest of his life for a relatively cheap price, or he can waste money on material things he will need to replace down the road... your logic fails. Again you or your parents(most likely) own things that they could have spent less money on, smaller tv, more affordable car, cheaper clothes, no videogames, cheaper computer, and the list can go on. Everybody spends money on things they don't really need. I don't think it's reallyappropriate for you to tell him it's a waste of money when to him it's probably more one of the most important things he can do in his life.

but plastic surgery is not a cheap thing. Its also not something that will keep you busy or entertained, you can change your need for a new nose. You just have to be at peace with your body (nose). A tv will always solve your boredom.

Wow, you have to be joking. So you're saying getting a tv more is worth more because you can sit on your ass inside your house all day long and watch it, as opposed to getting something done that won't make people look at you funny, or talk behind your back anymore, as well as give you a masive boost in confidence so that you can go out and live life to the fullest?

You have no argument.

but your self consious image of yourself is in the mind. I can be ugly as hell and win ugliest man of the year, if i think im handsome. Then whats the problem? Its in the mind, and you shouldnt pay 4000 to get your nose fixed, when the real problem is in the mind. If you think its a big enough deal, then get therapy.

I believe that a nose job would help me with the ladies in the future and I would be able to achieve great things if I were to acquire a new nose. I do not think this is wasteful at all. I am doing what I believe is right.

I have pectus exarvatium, and i dont think it will help or hurt me to get it fixed. If a girl likes me, its becase of my personality. If they have a problem with my chest, they can go **** themselves.

[QUOTE="rawsavon"][QUOTE="The_OT_Man"]The problem with sending the money to africa is that most africans aren't christian. ....and the thread takes a turn

Yeah, that pretty much killed any reason to defend him...

There is still a discussion going on, wether what sparked it was true or not. "is plastic surgery a waste of money?" my awnser still stands at yes.

[QUOTE="kipohippo021"][QUOTE="rawsavon"] You are not using amount now....like I said that is flawed logic You are using percentage of wealth which is something completely different...which is still flawed, just not as muchrawsavon
Say its 4000 dollars, can you just spare 4000 dollars? Not many people can, if you can afford plastic surgery no problem, great. If you cant, then it can be a problem. Its a luxury, not a necesity. Like i dont go on 4000 dollar shopping sprees, tc shouldnt spend that much on surgery. If you have that money to spare then you should be using it for good.

[QUOTE="kipohippo021"][QUOTE="rawsavon"] How does amount determine waste...sounds like some severely flawed logic to meMeat_Wad_Fan

If you have money to spare its not a waste, but i assume tc is not crazy rich. If he wants to make himself feel better, why not buy clothes or something more affordable? A nose job is much to expensive to just make yourself feel better. If anyone here (assuming nobody has something worse) needs cosmetic surgery here, its me. And i still dont want it cause its a waste of money.
