What would you differently? I'm well aware that most people here don't believe in God. But let's suspend disbelief for a moment, and pretend that this world is the product of God. What do you think He's doing wrong? If you were him what would you do differently?

[QUOTE="kneeha"][QUOTE="bloodling"] The post is about the weakness in the Macr [QUOTE="SgtKevali"]

1. They call it darwinism, which turns on red lights.

2. What are their reasons? I looked all over the site.

"The Scientific Dissent From Darwinism is a short public statement by scientists expressing their skepticism of Neo-Darwinism's key claim that natural selection acting on random mutations is the primary mechanism for the development of the complexity of life. The full statement reads: "We are skeptical of claims for the ability of random mutation and natural selection to account for the complexity of life. Careful examination of the evidence for Darwinian theory should be encouraged." Prominent scientists who have signed the statement include evolutionary biologist and textbook author Dr. Stanley Salthe; quantum chemist Henry Schaefer at the University of Georgia; U.S. National Academy of Sciences member Philip Skell; American Association for the Advancement of Science Fellow Lyle Jensen; Russian Academy of Natural Sciences embryologist Lev Beloussov; and geneticist Giuseppe Sermonti, Editor Emeritus of Rivista di Biologia / Biology Forum and discoverer of genetic recombination in antibiotic-producing Penicillium and Streptomyces.

That didn't give a lick of evidence or reason.

I honestly don't know their scientific reasoning. But using common sense i can deduce a variety of diffrent things since they are from a variety of diffrent fields.

Also, in looking into the matter, it would seem that the site is pulling some rather clear shenanigans in terms of the scientists' credentials.

GabuEx
It called out 15 names out of 300 .

There is absolutely nothing in your post.

[QUOTE="kneeha"]Philip Skell Emeritus, Evan Pugh Prof. of Chemistry, Pennsylvania State University Member of the National Academy of Sciences

Maciej Giertych Full Professor, Institute of Dendrology Polish Academy of Sciences

K. Mosto Onuoha Shell Professor of Geology & Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Univ. of Nigeria Fellow, Nigerian Academy of Science

Ferenc Jeszenszky Former Head of the Center of Research Groups Hungarian Academy of Sciences

M.M. Ninan Former President Hindustan Academy of Science, Bangalore University (India)

I'm noticing that some of these names are not people in relevant fields, and as such, are useless padding to the list. I mean, geology?

Geology- Its pretty simple "Strata Evidence." and look at the list, there are 100s of more names In fields that are directly related to studying evolution.

Yeah, these things have a lot of credentials because that's basically the only thing they have, misleaded religious people. There are lots of religious people out there.

Dissentfromdarwin.org. It seems many professors, scientist, and doctors from many different Ivy league, and prestigious Schools Including

Are questioning Darwinism. It seems and obvious conclusion with the new discoveries in science the past few decades.( I.E D.N.A. ). Also Linus Pauling (Nobel Prize winner and arguably the Greatest Chemist of the 20th Century) Liking the Cell as "more complex then New York City" Renders are current form of Macro Evolution statistically ridiculous.

Who, exactly, and why are they credible? This looks to me like a thinly-veiled Intelligent Design group.

This is the thing that bugs me - you take something that's fairly well-established, but you say "but wait! Look at this list of people who disagree!" And you can have a list, but it doesn't mean anything, it's just someone trying to make it look as though there's a legitimate debate where there isn't.

Here is a handful of them. Philip Skell Emeritus, Evan Pugh Prof. of Chemistry, Pennsylvania State University Member of the National Academy of Sciences Lyle H. Jensen Professor Emeritus, Dept. of Biological Structure & Dept. of Biochemistry University of Washington, Fellow AAAS Maciej Giertych Full Professor, Institute of Dendrology Polish Academy of Sciences Lev Beloussov Prof. of Embryology, Honorary Prof., Moscow State University Member, Russian Academy of Natural Sciences Eugene Buff Ph.D. Genetics Institute of Developmental Biology, Russian Academy of Sciences Emil Palecek Prof. of Molecular Biology, Masaryk University; Leading Scientist Inst. of Biophysics, Academy of Sci., Czech Republic K.
