British ratification of EU treaty- a loss of freedom

"An most lamentable event is about to take place on British soil that will remove our right to choose how to live. It shall take away our voice in foreign affairs, it shall not let us choose our own domestic laws, and it shall impose directive upon directive upon us.

The UK is poised to ratify the EU treaty in parliament within the next 24 hours.

As Gordon Brown and his Labour party walk into the House of Commons tomorrow to sign this unifying legislation, Britons on the street are utterly dumbfounded. There is opposition to this act in the commons from the Conservative party, though that is unlikely to make any difference due to Liberal Democrat support for the Labour party.

In short, we Britons are standing at the brink. We are standing at a crossroad that once crossed, may not be doubled back on. At the stroke of midnight tomorrow, our fate may be sealed by our dear unelected Prime Minister and his lackeys.

What does the EU treaty do? It erodes the national governance of our country by throwing our 60 million voices to the wind. It allows Brussels and Europe to control our domestic agenda, and more worryingly to TAKE our UN security council seat whenever they deem necesary.

In my opinion, this is an unacceptable proposition. The freedom of this nation shall be lost tomorrow, but how many shall weep for it? How many shall fight for it? My guess is none. The war we fought nigh on 60 years ago is almost forgotten.

If you ask me, this is the biggest threat faced by British sovereignty since 1938 and that pesky chap named Adolf. And again our politicians are set upon appeasement. "

[QUOTE="delol"][QUOTE="joao_22990"]No. We seem to live in an age where knowledge can bring death to anyone. There is too much that doesn't come out here.joao_22990

joao i completely disagree with you In a true democracy the people is the ruler and not those stiff government officials that not even where elected.BTW are you a Tuga ?

True democracy does not exist. It may achievable, but society is fragmented in so many groups that these days only certain persons of one of those groups can be elected as presidents. Not everyone can be elected president. Not everyone can have power.

Yes, information should be available to everyone. But it isn't, no doubt about it. You can see this everywhere, even in our jobs, friends, everywhere. We can't ask for this information, because it's private to each person. That's ok. But when governments try to hide information so they could use it for their own goals (and i suppose this is what you mean), instead of working for a better society, something is very wrong with us. And this is happening right now. And people are ready to kill to protect this information.

Oh yeah man, Tuga for ever. :D

so true man!!

[QUOTE="soldier-dark"]Alex Jones isn't the most credible person. He thinks the government conducted the 9/11 attack.soldier-dark

Well if you don't like sources I provided your always free to research with your own sources.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/3773019.stm

I'm sure you'd think BBC is more credible.

No, modern news isn't very credible either. The only way I ever find out what's going on in the world is by hearing from countless people about the same events. I'd really rather not know unless it actually affected me, it never does.

Well if thats the case I cannot help you, and your addition to this thread is not needed.

One thing thought. Where do you think the countless people get their information from, its always going to be some source of a sort.

But you see, I get around 20 different views on a subject instead of 2 different ones from extremely biased people who make money for what they provide. It gives me a much better view on subjects than just a black and white choice.

Believe or not, different sources may provide different views. Cnn, fox, and bbc may not be the only sources, there are countless other reliable sources that are simply not well known.

Alex Jones has less credibility than Fox. I'm not going to search around the internet looking at a bunch of conspiracy theorist websites for news.

You keep saying that man. Thats fine with me really, but Fox news I'd say is as reliable as my ****

I do believe they do keep secrets to protect themselves. They aren't all bad, but I believe that their goal is to control us rather than inform and aid us.
