*psst...* get da Half-Life :D

painguy1

Half life 2 should also work. I got it very close to running smooth an overclocked netbook running 1.2ghz.

lol im not planning to overclock this netbook. it gets pretty hot at times plus the intel gpu is just draggin it. its dx9 support is kinda iffy.

You will not have to overclock your netbook to play the game. I only OCed mine because I modded it with more fans and wanted to push it.

I'm fairly certain (almost 100%), that i have seen an asus netbook of similar specs run HL2 fine.

Overclocking using software is perfectly acceptable and used by thousands of people. Try setfsb if you want to overclock. But be warned, if you screw things up, it's not my fault, just pointing you in the right direction to do your research.

Again, that's pretty easy for you to say considering you have every game at your disposal.
Plus, I don't see why I am not allowed to voice my opinion on a product just because there is a limited release of games for Mac.

[QUOTE="kodyoo"][QUOTE="DanielDust"] Weird how MAC users complain because of the lack of games, and when they get some "oh but I don't like them", it will be a looooooooong transition and how does the currently up to date CS:S (engine wise) look bad? when did CS:S ever look "bad"? maybe 1.6.

DanielDust

Weird how PC users who have every game ever made available think that Mac gamers should be happy with the 5 decent games that they have out.

PC gaming was there when gaming was invented....MAC? not so much, it's weird how you expect a previously unsupported platform (except for a few developers like Blizzard) to have a lot of games overnight, MAC wasn't and still isn't for gaming, developers won't profit much from bringing their games to MAC and because of that they won't rush it/care.

They're giving you the possibility to play some games and you're still ignorant :/, if you really want to get into gaming get a decent PC with Windows for half the price of a decent MAC or wait for more casual games to be ported to MAC along with some "big" games, you might not like what you have now but almost all of those games are great.

I never said I wanted game support overnight, all I said was that I wasn't going to buy CS. Then you went off on Mac gamers not being grateful. I am more than grateful for steam games, I show so by buying their games, I don't know how much more grateful I can be.

And my next computer will be a PC, but until then I will be gaming on a mac.

In 4 years SSDs will be all the rage, since they aren't really realistically available right now at a reasonable price, you will inevitably be behind the curve in 4 years if you have a normal HDD today.

I suspect the same will go with a lot of other hardware choices.

[QUOTE="Essian"][QUOTE="kodyoo"]Yeah, you didn't see it? Fortix came out :) Of course I am being facetious, us mac gamers aren't worth a release every week. If I had to guess, the next release will be L4D and L4D2. Although I would like to see some 3RD party releases. Because I don't see why COD2, COD4, and Bioshock aren't already released seeing as they already have mac versions and pc versions available on Steam....

according to a Valve rep at E3, who was showing off Portal 2, Counter Strike is coming out on Mac next week

A Valve game that I won't be buying. So far i've bought all of their releases and then some, but I don't want Counter Strike. Looks like I'll be reinstalling Bioshock soon :), or just playing TF2 more.
