Games, Deviantart and school

For some reason, I feel like doing a blog lately so that's why this one exists. Anyway, January's almost over, and February's coming soon. I must admit, I'm surprised how fast time flies. Then again, one would often feel that time flew by quickly whenever they look back.
I haven't been playing too many games lately, mainly because I'm not in the mood to play them. Recently though,I've been playing games on the PS2. I love playing handheld games but sometimes there's nothing better than playing a game on a console to play with your younger brother and sisters or alone. I've been playing Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams a lot with my younger sister. I'll admit it's one of my favourite videogame series. One of the reasons is because my father used to play Onimusha 3 (or was it 2?) and I remember watching him fighting the final boss in the game (I didn't remember what the final boss looks like though). I've also been planning to play Onimusha: Warlords soon although my sister it's a pretty hard game.
I've also been thinking of replaying all the Kingdom Hearts games that I own, which is 1, 2 and Birth By Sleep, especially since this year is Kingdom Hearts 10th anniversary. Besides, it's kind of been a long time since I've played a KH game. I'm thinking of trying to play the game at the hardest mode. I only hope I didn't rage so often when I'm playing. :P
I've also recently created a Deviantart account. Feel free to check it out if you want. I've mainly been planning to draw fanart of my favourite videogame characters and shows (that's a maybe for this one). I still have plenty of room for improvement with my drawings though. >.>
I've been doing pretty well at school. Nearly got into trouble for not finishing the homework (I managed to finish it at the last minute though) but right now tthere's plenty of homework I've yet to finish, mainly because I'm lazy to finish them. Honestly though, I can't seem to do any homework whenever there's a one-week holiday or so for some reason like the Chinese New Year holidays I've had last week. I've often thought to myself to try and finish them early in the holidays but I ended up putting them off until later.
Anyway, I'm still doing my Add Math homework right now so I guess it's best if I ended this blog here.
They're not as annoying as Vespoids though. :P

Happy New Year!
by koolkat14 on Comments
It's offcially 2012 where I live now. Overall, I find 2011 to be a pretty good year with plenty of good stuff and bad stuff happening to me. It's not one of the best years although I only consider the best years to be the ones when I have an important exam and got good grades on them. :P This year is going one busy year though. Why? Because this year I'll be having SPM examinations and it's an important one to because if I want to have a good future I'm going to have to do well in the exams and get straight A+'s and...it's not going to be easy.
In other words, I'll be doing a lot more studying and that means I can't play as much videogames as I used to. I also can't go to GS as much as well because, well you already know why. I'll still be around here for almost everyday, just lurking here a lot than usual. :P Anyhow, I've been meaning to make a daily schedule (from Monday to Friday) but I'm too lazy to do it so my younger sister made one for me.
Yes I'm a lazy idiot who asks her younger sister to make a schedule for her but I honestly have no motivation to do it so I'm pretty glad that she made one for me. It's a pretty good schedule actually although I did make a few alterations on Friday mostly because apparently I've plenty of free time on that day. :| I have to make one for the weekends myself but to be honest even I'm not sure how long do I want to study and such.
Overall it's more studying, less videogaming, less coming here (which will hopefullly stop my addiction in coming here :P ) and less getting angry easily because I've a good feeling I'll get stressed easily this year. Oh and as for the whole "the world will end in 2012" thing, I really don't believe that kind of stuff. So here ends another short blog.
Happy New Year!

Rayman Origins: First Impressions
by koolkat14 on Comments
So two days ago, I got Rayman Origins that came by mail (hooray for buying games online!) and also played it two days ago. And being a fan of the Rayman series, all I can is that I love it. Probably the best Rayman game I've played.
The platforming is easy at first but it gradually gets harder. Of course, there are some parts that difficult in the first world or two but fortunately there are plenty of checkpoints around so you don't have to start right from the beginning. The controls are....well...perfect to say of the least. The time I ended up dieing in some parts of the level is mostly my fault, especially when I jump and fall straight into a bottomless pit or in the water filled with piranhas. :P
As you probably know, Rayman Origins can be played alone or together with friends (there's no online co-op) though. You can play by yourself but once you get your friends/brothers/sisters/whoever-it-is that's where things get a lot more fun (and chaotic sometimes) especially when you start fooling around and smacking at each other in the levels. I also love the artstyIe in the game. It's just plain beautiful from the levels to the characters themselves.
Una vida glu glu~
Music is also one of my favourite parts in the game especially at the Sea of Serendipity. I could honestly listen to the music over and over again just to listen to the music, not to mention the levels itself are fun (if a bit frustrating). Some of my favourites so far are this and this.
One thing I do notice though is that the game requires you to collect enough Electoons in order to get past some of the levels in the game so it's a pretty good idea to collect as many Electoons as possible in one level when played it for the first time. I haven't had to go back and collect Electoons to get through the levels yet but I've a good feeling I may have to do so.
I also enjoy levels or parts of a level where you have to ride a Moskito in and shoot and suck up enemies and spit them at other enemies. It's a nice change of pace from all the platforming and it's also one of my other favourite things in the game.
I would like to say more about the game but it might ended up into a review instead. :P One thing's for sure, this game has definitely earned my GOTY this year. If you're a fan of platformers, especially 2D platformers then I say go and get this game. NOW!!!
In other news, I've also been playing LA Noire and Sonic Generations, both of them I got since last week. I like LA Noire but I suck at this game so I often have my sister beside me whenever I play this game. I never even manage to finish any of the Ace Attorney series as well. In other words, I suck at solving cases, even though I'm fond of reading and watching mystery genres. :P
I enjoyed Sonic Generations as well, even though I prefer Rayman Origins. One thing's for sure it certainly is the best 3D Sonic game I've played, better than Sonic Unleashed, which is my all-time favourite Sonic game. That's all I've got for this blog. Until the next one!

Life and gaming updates
by koolkat14 on Comments
It's almost a month since my last blog and since I'm not too lazy to do it, I might as well do so right now. On life, I've been doing well. I've had my final examinations on October 7 although some students in my form took the exams earlier. Overall, I think I did most of the papers from good to...not so good. Mainly because I have a bad habit of revising at the last minute, something that I should get rid of right now. That's because I've SPM examinations next year and it's really important especially if I wanted to go to a university. I only I don't have any fails for this exam although getting all A's would be a pleasant surprise. I still have some papers next week from Monday to Wednesday, though.
On Monday my family and I went to a game store (my younger brother and sister and I don't have school on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) and bought plenty of games there. First, my younger sister got DBZ Tenkaichi Tag Team for the PSP. I've played the game myself and it plays a lot like that one game for the PS2 (I forgot the name) but instead you can have two to four characters fighting in one match at once. I haven't played much to give a good impression on it but if you enjoy DBZ fighting games and have a PSP, then look no further than this one. We've also got some DS games as well. I'm too lazy to name them all so here's a few of the DS games that we got.
- The World Ends With You
- Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
- Pokemon HeartGold
- Pokemon SoulSilver
There's more but I'm not in the mood to name all of them. :P I haven't played the Pokemon games yet though. Oh and my mother bought a second-hand DSi for more than RM400 (I forgot the exact price), which is a pretty good deal if you ask me. We also got Killzone 3 for RM150 I believe which is surprisingly cheap for a new game that came out this year. Don't expect me to play a game like that, though. I asked the guy at the game store if there's an ICO & Shadow of the Colossus collection but no such luck, unfortunately. >_>
Anyway, onto what I've games I've been playing, I've played TWEWY a lot and so far, the game's really great. The combat's taking a while to get used to it but once you do, it's quite a lot of fun. Although I'm still trying to get used to fighting and looking at both screens because I've a tendency to focus at one screen a lot more and ignoring the other but that's normal right? No? :? Anyway, I'm on Week 2; Day 1 and decided to level up some of the pins first before I move on. I enjoy listening to the music as well although some of them are pretty meh in my opinion. So far, this one has to be my most favourite music. I've also played Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time and I'm currently at Yoshi's Island. I enjoyed it so far but I honestly hate about the fact that you have to press the buttons at the right time to deal a lot of damage to an enemy. Many times I only deal little damage to them just because I press the buttons too fast or slow but I'm nitpicking.
I've also recently finished Patapon 3. Overall, the game is great and I would definitely recommend it to Patapon fans but if you're new to the Patapon series I'd suggest you play the first and second game first I might do a review…if I'm not too lazy that is. Besides, I'm no good at making reviews. :| I have also been trying to continue Alice: Madness Returns (I'm at the Queen's Castle if I remember correctly) but the fact that the Executioner is around; waiting to chase Alice scares me. Besides, I have a fear for enemies that you can't attack and the Executioner is one of them. I played Portal 2 as well at Chapter 3 right now and I'm enjoying it so far but that's not surprising since I enjoy puzzle games.
And that's all I've got for this blog, when's the next one, well even I'm not sure about that one honestly.

My grandmother died...
by koolkat14 on Comments
Today my parents came home at around 3:00AM and during that time I woke up due to the fact the mosquito bites being really itchy. I must admit, I was shocked to see them coming home so early in the morning but nothing could prepare me for what I was going to hear from my parents. And that's my grandmother died. At first, I didn't believe my father but when I saw (or rather heard) my mother cried when she said it to me as well, I know it's true. They said she died at around 11:30PM.
To be honest, I'm still finding hard to believe that my grandmother is already....gone. It feels rather unbelievable but I know that it's true. She's gone, she's no longer here and she's, err, "kembali ke Rahmatullah" as they say. I've gotta be honest, seeing her face for the last time....it honestly made me feel so sad that I cried. I don't know why but I just can't help it. A few good things did came out of it. One, it reminded me that everyone will die one day although when, where and how only Allah himself knows. It reminded me that life is precious and we must not waste any of the precious time that we have left because we never know when we'll die. It might be tomorrow, it might be today, it might even be before you finish reading this blog.
Anyway, now I'm at Jerantut and my grandmother is already buried. I'd say more but unfortunately I just don't feel like it. One thing's for sure, I'm going to miss her a lot but I guess it won't be long before I got used to her not being around. May Allah put her amongst those who believe in Him.
Al-Fatihah
So now I have an Xbox 360...
by koolkat14 on Comments
My parents have wanted to buy an Xbox 360 lately and yesterday they manage to get one after we visit my aunt's house in Kota Damansara. We went to a shopping complex and bought itin a game store there. If I remember what my mother said to my sister correctly, it's around RM1700 (probably more) and it was a black 4GB Xbox slim that came along with Kinect and Kinect Adventures. Of course we alsobought some games for the 360 as well. If I remember from the top of my head:
- Alice:Madness Returns
- Portal 2
- Sonic Free Riders
- Gears of War 2
I'm sure there are more but I can't seem to remember them for some reason. I haven't played any games on it yetbut I probably will...somewhere around whis week, maybe.Oh and in case if you're wondering if I'll be using Xbox Live, no I will not. I'm not the kind of person that plays online often. Besides, I don't think my parents would be willing to pay in order to play online since we already can play online on the PS3.
Speaking of PS3, we also manage to get a second-hand InFamous 2 from the same place where we buy the 360 and it's still in pretty good condition as well. I've yet to play it myself but it does remind me that I've yet to play the evil side in InFamous 1. I've only completed the hero side so I guess I should get to completing it.
Besides Infamous 2, I also manage to find Ape Escape 3. Even though it's a blur, I remember playing Ape Escape on the PS1 and enjoyed it a lot. So once I found it, I can't help but not get it. I could've got the second one but unfortunately I'm unable to find it there. So far I'm really enjoying it and catching the monkeys can be quite difficult but it also provides a lot of fun. The controls also takes some time getting used to, especially when you have to jump by pressing R1 or R2 instead of X. It also feels pretty short of a game because I played a lot of levels in such a short time but since I'm not even 50% finished with the game I guess there's still a lot more levels I have to go.
So that's pretty much all I've got for this blog. Now I'm off to study and/or play Ape Escape 3 or Patapon 3.

Back to school for me....
by koolkat14 on Comments
Holidays come to an end, many people in Malaysia are going back to their homes and I am back at school. I gotta say, one week of holidays feels pretty long and yet so short. My Eid actually turned out well, probably better than I thought. A few days before eid my family and I went to Jerantut, Pahang where one of my grandmother lives, the one where I said in the last few blogs ended up in a hospital. She's out of the hospital now but I don't think she has become better, really.
On the first two days of Eid, a lot of people came to my grandmother's house and my mother told me to give money to the kids (and teenagers :P ) that came. I gotta admit, giving money to them makes me feel really happy inside for some reason. Most of the guests are friends and relatives of my mother's family apparently. They also gave my cousins, brother, sisters and me money as well. We also visit other houses as well mainly ones that are a relative or friend of my mother's.
We went home to Saujana Utama on the second day of Eid and then we're off to Ipoh, Perak on the third day. Admittedly it is kind of dull but the good thing is that I get to meet my relatives especially since you rarely met them. Also I did receive money from them although I'll admit, I was rather embarrased to take it. :P Until today, I got more than RM100 since Eid (me, my brother and sisters got RM50 each from my parents) and I must say, that's a lot. I'm thinking of using it to buy the games I want and keep some of the money for future purposes.
So what I've been playing during the holidays? Well since my brother plays the PS2 and PS3 a lot with my cousins in Jerantut and played wayyy too many Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops with my sisters and cousins in Ipoh, I've been playing the PSP a lot. I played Patapon 3 the most though. I've already unlocked all the archer classes for my Uberhero and in my opinion, Cannogabang is the best Uberhero with Alosson a close second. I've yet to unlock the ones in the shield and spear tree. I'm at the Evilmass of Adamance and I absolutely detest that place. So right now I'm thinking of levelling up the other classes (which is a hassle by the way) because I do NOT want to go to that place for a while.
I've also played Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker since my sister recommended me to. Unfortunately, it's not my kind of game. It just doesn't interest me for some reason but I'll admit, it's a great game and I enjoyed it. I've played other games as well but I'm too lazy to tell them all. :P
So yeah, school's back in session and in the next three months, from September to November there will be three important exams going on. One is UPSR which begins this Tuesday for the 12 year olds, PMR on October for 15 year olds (but you guys probably knew that right?) and SPM which begins on November for 17 year olds. Also, some of my teachers said that finals begin on October, if I remember correctly. I wanted to do my finals really well especially since I'm weak on some subjects so I guess I'm going to try to not come here as often, which is pretty difficult.
Unfortunately, I became ill once we're back at Saujana Utama from Ipoh. Got a cold or a fever, I believe. I don't know how I got it but hey, sometimes things like that happen for a reason, right? I still went to school as usual but right now my nose is rather blocked, my body aches everywhere and I'm not sure if my body's hot or not but it sure feels like it. I'll be better soon though so don't worry.
That's all for this blog. Hope I didn't bore you though. Oh and thanks for the comments in my last blog. :D
