My brother bought a laptop from cyberpower, and has had no issues with it. Their prices are fairly good, (although as others have said building your own system will get you the best deal) so I would recommend them http://www.cyberpowerpc.com/

I wasn't even really all that hyped for this game looking at all the previews and such, and just randomly decided to try the demo. Since I downloaded this yesterday, I have already put in almost 7 hours and this may be my new favorite multiplayer game. :D (Will probably most likely just switch between L4D and TF2)

[QUOTE="karmue"]

output 300w max

5v&3.3v 180w max 5v&12v 288w max

does that mean i also need a new power supply? thanks for your answer

Sordidus

Just get a HD4670 and you'll play any game you want and you don't need a new power supply for that.

Straight from ATI's website:

ATI RadeonTM HD 4600 System Requirements

400 Watt or greater power supply

He will need a new powersupply to use a 4670 ;)

[QUOTE="bedram793"]Dell are a bunch of liars. I knew I wouldn't be able to get all of my 4 GB ram, so I asked them about it and said why I can't get 64 bit. They said that's only for the business desktops, and then I asked what would happen to the rest of my ram. They said the "system" would be using it, even if it only read 3.3 GB. When I told her she was lying and that the rest wasn't used because Vista 32 bit only recognizes at max 3.5 GB or so and the left just wasn't used, she cancelled the session (was the online chat support). When I finally go to college and my life afterwards, I am never going to buy a Dell or any prebuilt (probably). Just going to build my own computer.GuitarFreak2

32 bit can address 4GB total system memory. Meaning that if you have, say, an 8800GTX, it'll show you have 3326MB of RAM instead of 4GB. 4096-768=3326.

Also, just went over to cyberpowerpc and check out this rig, which completely blows away that dell, for about $2k less...

Recommending the TC buy this rig instead of the dell, as this easily outperform the dell in games by a large margin. Link to cyberpower pc's

Should be a good system that will allow you to run Crysis at high settings and maybe very high if you get a custom config, and most other games it will run near max or maxed no problem. If you don't want to run Vista 64-bit, you can opt for the 32-bit version, although it will not take advantage of all the RAM. I wont say that i'm extremely up-to date on hardware, so some input from others would be appreciated :)

Stalker could certainly be creepy at times, but F.E.A.R. was the only one that was a bit scary. Although the only way I could get it to scare me was to play at night with headphones on. Gameplay wise Stalker was better though.

Just because it has 512 MB's of RAM doesn't mean it's a good video card. Low-end video cards are often made with high amounts of RAM just to sucker people into thinking they are getting a good deal. Don't fall for it, because that is actually a very weak video card ;)

Well before you go out and buy a video card suggested by anyone here, you should be sure you know the type of slot your computer has for a video card ;)

Download EVEREST Free Edition here, install it and click on the motherboard tab and tell us the model of your motherboard. We can then look up what kind of graphics card your motherboard would support. :)

EDIT: Actually you can just tell us the model of your computer and we could look that up.

its a dell Dimension 8110, i has 2.80 ghz processor, 1 gb of Ram, a 128 mb vidoe card, and 160 gb hd

Just checked, and it looks like you only have PCI slots :? That unfortuantly would require an entire new motherboard to get a new graphics card, which would also mean a new processor, new ram, and possibly a new powersupply if it was packed with an old one... you're probably better off getting a 360 unless you don't mind making quite a few upgrades.
