Guys I am just very curious what you all want/expect from MS, Sony and Nintendo once they all launch their new gaming consoles. I mean what is imporatant to you. Full 1080p support for every game? Rock steady 60 fps gameplay? Better, deeper stories? Bigger games? New I.P.'s? Better, faster, deeper online play? Lets hear your opinions people!!!

I cant help but feel that The Witcher 2 is highly, highly overrated! I just dont see what is so great about it! I personally feel that both Dragons Age origins and Dragon Age 2 and Two Worlds 2 are all better games. Heck, I even had more fun with the Dungeon Seige 3 demo than I have thus far with TW2! Thoughts?

My Dell XPS Laptop has very similar specs to both of those and I can run anything on the market from Metro 2033, Starcraft 2, Mass Effect 2, The Witcher 2, Crysis 2 and DAO. Actually, I can run both Mass Effect 2, Starcraft 2and Crysis 2 on High settings with no issues whatsoever. Both Metro 2033 and The Witcher 2 can run at high, buttheir best performance is at medium.

With Basic WoW being F2P? I mean the way I understand it, the original WoW is F2P, but if you want to move on, you will need the other expansions? Is this true?

Absolutely day one for me. These days I dont have the time or the interest to play 90% of the games that are out there, but with a game like CoD I know what im getting and I can play for an hour or two and have a blast. BF3 may ultimately be the deeper, better looking game, but CoD games are always alot of fun and a great way to just hang out with your online buddies.

Guys I am curious what games you all play? I was born in the 1970's and have been playing games for a long time. However, as I get older, my taste in games and the time I want to put into them has changed. I find anymore that the only games I really have any inclination to put any time into are CoD/Battlefield games and either Madden or NCAA Football. The only other genre that I would even remotely consdider putting any time in anymore would be a good RPG type experience where there is character building, loot and boss battles.

Guys I have to say that whenever I play CoD BlackOps, I cannot believe all of the crying and whining about people "corner camping" or "camping" in general! It's part of the game! What, do you want them to run down the middle of a steet or a room and let you shoot them? I you want to be able to just run through the middle of crowded, hostile territory, go play Halo where you have armor and shields! When playing a CoD game you should simply realize that if you burst into a room or sit still to long, you will get killed. If someone is "camping", deal with it. Take him out of his spot. Personally, I love when a guy is sitting in one spot. That means I know where he will be. Plus when you kill him and he comes back to try and reclaim his spot and you kill him again, that is some sweet justice.

[QUOTE="HilbillyRokstar"]Do you have a crystal ball? What's the next console (which is due out in 2 or 3 yrs) gonna have? I'm betting 1080p will be the standard at some point. Possibly in as little as 3 - 5 yrs, maybe less.

Read the original post buddy!!! He clearly stated he is wondering if 1080p makes a huge difference for 360 gaming!!!!

I did, and please don't call me "buddy". I have my opinion and you have yours! Read my other posts, if you wanna see why I said what I said. I don't really appreciate you telling him not to listen to us when we are only trying to help him. It's kind of disrespecful.

I tell him that because almost everyone on these boards thinks that 1080p is necessary this generation and it simply isnt! Heck, developers cant even hit 720p as a standard with console games, what in the world makes you think that they will all of a sudden be hitting 1080p in the next? At this point, Id be happy with rock solid 720p and 60 fps in EVERY game!!

Dont listen to these guys. The number of games on the 360 that are native 1080p can be counted on one hand if that. Almost all of the huge franchise like Gears of War, Forza, Halo, CoD, Madden and others all run at or BELOW 720p. Just because you have a HDTV capable of 1080p resolutions doesn't give you the ability to alter the games native, pre-programmed visual quality. All a 1080p HDTV will do to a 720p image is upscale it, but it is still not a TRUE 1080p image. Also, unless you are playing on a screen of 46" or higher, the difference between 720p and 1080p is negligible!

Now that being said, if this is going to strictly be a gaming TV, then 720p is plenty and will save you $150 or more. However, if you have plans to watch BluRay movies or potentially run a high end PC through your HDTV then the extra $$$ on a 1080p set would be a wise investment.
