[QUOTE="kungfuchaos"]

Why does everyone fall for this crap these PC fanboys spew! You DONT NEED to run out and buy some uber gaming rig that will max out BF3 or any other game to enjoy it! Heck, I play my PC games on a laptop that can run Crysis 2 on high to very high and I have the DX11 patch and the high rez texture patch as well!! Do I play in 2500 x 1600 resolution? No! Do my games always run at a buttery smooth 60 fps? No! Do I enjoy them any less? a BIG NO!!!! I will be getting BF3 and I will be playing it on my laptop and I will love it as much as some dude that ran out and bought the latest and greatest GPU, CPU and MoBo just to brag to eveyone on here that he can max out BF3!!

jedikevin2

So now its Pc fanboys saying you have to buy some uber gaming rig to enjoy pc games? I think you have that very very confused kungfu expecially in system wars. Just about everytime a thread saying a Pc has to be XXXX in price, you will always see who you call "pc fanboys" advising that you do not need to build some ungodly price pc to enjoy Pc games.

Really? So thats why every time one of these posts gets made, you have the hardcore PC gamers chiming in on how you will need this GPU, that CPU and this much RAM just to even boot up BF3. It is ridiculous!!! DICE isnt dumb enough to make a game that caters only to the top 10% of PC gamers as far quality of enjoyment goes. My point is that anyone who falls for this crap and buys a PC solely to play a game at max settings is very misguided!!

to be honest i enjoy team deathmatch but i wonder how dice will implement team deathmatch in bf3 considering that bf3 supports 64 players

Ironfist66

Did you ever think that maybe, just maybe DICE will put a cap on their Death Match mode to say 16 per side. Just because BF3 can support 64 players on a particular mode that doesnt mean that ALL game types will have that many players!! DICE would be very wise to allow for all play styles in BF3. It is quite possible that their will be players who dont always feel like the whole team based Rush or Conquest thing and would rather just play some good old fashioned DM or TDM!

set aside for either of the next gen consoles or a new gaming PC. Which do you go with? Now I know right now this decision is next to impossible since we know nothing about what Nintendo, MS and Sony have in store. For me personally I am going head first into PC gaming as I will build a new gaming rig within the next year. If I do get one of the new consoles, it will most likely be the WiiU.

Unless Nintendo completely drops the ball between now and E3 2012 which is when we should get official pricing, launch titles and news on what is coming after launch, I have decided that 2012 will see me buying WiiU. If Nintendo can get the big third party developers on board, the WiiU will be a huge hit! I just dont see Sony or MS doing anything to WOW me after this current crop of games outside of Halo 4.

[QUOTE="DanielDust"]Making better graphics for PC means extra cost for no reason, that's money lost for them.Falconoffury

There are reasons to make better graphics for the PC release. The PC audience tends to be more geeky, and they tend to care more about the graphics tweaking and the hardware it takes to run it. PC gamers also tend to appreciate multiplatform titles that are ported well to the PC. Lazy, buggy, and poorly optimized ports tend to have disappointing sales on PC.

I'm not saying that no console gamers are geeky. They all certainly care about good graphics and good frames per second. I just have to wonder if they aren't getting fed up with the long hardware cycle. With games like Battlefield 3 and the Crysis 2 DX11 patch stunning people with their beauty, I have to wonder if gamers will start demanding better hardware.

Hardware focus has nothing to do with economy, there's no reason to buy better hardware when that "6 year old" PC still runs games decently. DanielDust

This is an interesting point. Perhaps the games development industry is lacking the talent these days to create games that really push hardware anymore. Or maybe it's just lazy developers who only care about the lowest common denominator anyway. I still think the economy has a large part of this trend because a new $1500 gaming computer every 2-4 years is tough when people are struggling to get jobs near or at minimum wage. I heard some sad stories of technology professionals working at research labs and such, getting layed off and end up taking a ten buck an hour job at Best Buy a year later.

Ages ago, PC (games) evolved constantly at an insane rate and hardware wou;dn't last more than 1 almost 2 years before they'd be almost obsolete, nowadays main focus is on consoles, after that it's just adapting the game to the PC control scheme, few bother adding at least a few enhancements.DanielDust

Ages ago? It doesn't feel like that long ago. Crysis came out in late 2007. That game alone was a huge catalyst, pushing gamers to build better computers. Why couldn't Battlefield 3 be the next big catalyst. I, personally, am building a new computer just because of Battlefield 3.

Why do alot of you feel that you have to max out the latest and greatest game each time one comes out? I plan on getting BF3 to play on my laptop and I promise you that my enjoyment level will be every bit equal to yours. I am not running out putting together a brand new PC just to play a game. My laptop will run BF3 just fine and it will look great. Will it be maxed out? No! Will I be getting a constant 60fps? No! But you know what, neither will probably 70% of the rest of the PC gaming population. If I can run Crysis, Crysis 2, Starcraft 2, DAO, The Witcher 2, Metro 2033 and Mass Effect 2 all buttery smooth, Im pretty confident that my BF3 experience will be just fine!!

Actually, Id like to combine the visuals and guns of MW2 with the maps and gameplay of Blops! That would be the perfect CoD.

Even knowing as little as we do, I have already decided Im getting WiiU and building a gaming rig in 2012. MS and Sony can kiss it!!! Besides, its going to be close to two more years before we see anything new from MS or Sony console wise. I just dont see the huge leap forward from them that alot of you think will happen. Personally, I just want my games at 1080p and running at a buttery smooth 60fps.
