Dont listen to these guys. The number of games on the 360 that are native 1080p can be counted on one hand if that. Almost all of the huge franchise like Gears of War, Forza, Halo, CoD, Madden and others all run at or BELOW 720p. Just because you have a HDTV capable of 1080p resolutions doesn't give you the ability to alter the games native, pre-programmed visual quality. All a 1080p HDTV will do to a 720p image is upscale it, but it is still not a TRUE 1080p image. Also, unless you are playing on a screen of 46" or higher, the difference between 720p and 1080p is negligible!

Now that being said, if this is going to strictly be a gaming TV, then 720p is plenty and will save you $150 or more. However, if you have plans to watch BluRay movies or potentially run a high end PC through your HDTV then the extra $$$ on a 1080p set would be a wise investment.

My PC has trouble running it on medium with all the effects turned off. I doubt your laptop could even run it on low.

My laptop runs TW2 just fine. I have a DELL XPS L5026. It has a i-7 2620 2.7 GHz processor up to 3.4 GHz with Turbo Boost. 6GB RAM, 500 GB Hardrive and a Nvidia GT540M video card.

Also, if your laptop is like mine, you have (2) video cards. One is for general purpose use and the other is for graphic intensive applications like movies and games. Canurunit wont pick up on the higher card as I have gone there myself. It tells me I cant run a bunch of games that I own and run smooth as butter.

Stream has the Stalker collection on sale way, way cheap and I was curious which is the best one? Also, is it necessary to play all of them as in are they somehow connected like Mass Effect or Halo or are they stand alone stories?

I have a Dell XPS with a i-7 2620M 2.7 GHz up to 3.4 GHz with Turbo Boost, 6GB RAM, 500GB Harddrive and a Nvidia GT540M video card. I have no issues playing anything on the market including Crysis 2 with DX 11 upgrade and texture upgrade. other games in my collection include TW2, Metro 2033, Mass Effect 2, DAO, Crysis, Portal 2, TF2, Divinity 2 and many more. Now I dont have the full HD that the MSI laptop offers as my lappy tops out at 1366 x 768, but on a 15.6 screen, I seriously doubt I could tell the difference.

This news is making my decision easier and easier as to which game (MW3/BF3) Ill be spending the bulk of my time on. I was already leaning towards BF3 as it is, but with DICE giving the players options is a great idea.

Im curious how many games you all purchase in a given year and do you finish every single aspect of a game before moving on to a new one? Or do you bounce around from game to game depending on time and your gaming mood?

Ive been saying this for 6 years now. All of these people who rushed out and bought 1080p HDTV's because Sony promised 1080p gaming have been duped!! There are maybe what, 15-20 games on the market between the 360 and PS3 that run in native 1080p? The rest run at or below 720p. It has been proven that ON CONSOLES 1080p doesn't really exist except for a few select titles. These people all believe that their 1080p HDTV's magically take a game that was created with a 540p-720p resolution...aka..CoD's, Halo Reach, Uncharted series, KZ series, RFoM series and more and make it run in 1080p! NOT POSSIBLE!! A native resolution is a native resolution. You guys can believe what you want!!

First of all, have you ever heard the phrase..."if it ain't broke, dont fix it"? Whether you find the CoD offerings repetitive or not, the facts are that MILLIONS of people buy CoD each time a new one comes out. Sure the Killstreaks could be reworked a bit and some of the Perk combos can be annoying, but the games are fun and entertaining. Secondly, who the heck uses Stopping Power? Better yet, who plays any of the CORE modes? CORE anything is a waste of time. I only play HARDCORE whether its TDM, FFA or TEAM TAC. Lastly, Im am so sick of everyone comparing CoD and BF. The ONLY thing they have in common is the fact that they are both modern miltary shooters. If you hate CoD so much, fine dont buy them. The rest of us will be thoroughly enjoying MW3 this Fall!!!

Im getting WiiU and a true gaming PC by 2012. I have ZERO interest in anything that MS or Sony have to offer!
