Planet Earth (discovery channel series) has been released on both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray, and the HD-DVD version has broken Amazon's records.

I sided with HD-DVD a long time ago with the Toshiba A-1 player, and this is very good news!

it has rankings, but i'm sceptical. what are the actual numbers. i'm not to savy on how they make that list, but i personally think anything syaing the the world is ready to move forward in a movie format. 

I really hate arcady style hack and slash... it might have a great story but the game sucked bad IMO (IMO fanboys, don'tget me wrong and for noobs = In My Opinion, cuz I know everybody loves GOW).-KinGz-

i can see why, but i wouldn't classify it as an arcade style, and the little mingames are really staisfying. i've played Gears, I've chainsawed some players on XBL, but the minigames beat anything in gears, and gears is awsome

accordign to this, some ps3 owners are having their consoles emit loud noises and overheats...

i guess the 360 isn't the only ones with probs with new tech...

then again, the story was founded from forum posts, so who knows..

this is old, and it was only a small number of them 

Ok so as we all know it was just released that the PS3 had sold 800k in Europe - LINK

Of that 800k...600k was sold in the first week - LINK

Ok of that 600k from that link you could see that 165k of that was from the UK

Now for the second week sales we know that the PS3 dropped 82% in sales in the UK - LINK

For the third week of salse we know that the PS3 sold 17k and was outsold by the Wii which sold 25k and the 360 sold 11k - LINK

Using some simple math we can figure out that the PS3 sold in the UK

Week 1: 165k

Week 2: 29700 (82% drop)

Week 3: 17k

Week 4: ??

Ok using the ratio of PS3's that are sold in the UK based off the first week we find that in all of europe the PS3 sold

Week 1: 600k (Based of earlier links) (This means the UK is responsible for 27.5% of sales in Europe)

Week 2: 108k (Based of the %% the UK is responsible for)

Week 3: 61818 (Based of the %% the UK is responsible for)

Week 4: 30182 (800k-600k-108k-61818 = that number)

This means the UK only sold about 8.3k in the UK in the 4th week. Keep in mind the 360 sold 11k last week and the Wii sold 25k and theres no reason for those consoles to suddenly decline in sales (theyve been out longer). So basically this is terrible news that the PS3 has only sold 800k in a month in Europe. The rate of decline in sales is very drastic and scary for sony.

Because PS2 already did that. PS2 sold more than TWICE what the original Nintendo sold and 5 times more than N64. "Bringing gaming back to the masses". That phrase from Reggie annoys me. PlayStation 2 brought gaming back to the masses no thanks to Nintendo. Nintendo's market share dropped and dropped...and Reggie has the audacity to say "we are bringing gaming back to the masses" after PS2 sold like 120 million?? Yes, Wii is selling well but Reggie said this phrase before the 1st Wii was even sold. And people say Nintendo isn't arrogant?? Also, even if Wii somehow continues to sell as well as it has, it STILL won't ever catch up to PS2 sales. "But, but, but....the masses" Sure, Nintendo...just keep telling yourselves that. Does Wii appeal to a wider range of people than PS2? Perhaps. But "masses" equals quantity. And PS2 already has the quantity. Nintendo and Reggie need a new phrase...

look at this generation. anyone under the age of 13 probably won't want nor parents will buy them a console like the 360 or PS3. Then there are the older people who don't really enjoy video games. the wii can be something anyone can enjoy, as seen by that famous pic of old people playing the wii.
