@Raidendude153: I'm right there with you, dude. Love this show. I'm assuming you saw the first ep back in April. It was pretty great. I really don't think we, as fans, have anything to worry about as far as quality. They did mention that last night, that Dan is a neurotic mess about making the show up to snuff, hence the long process.
I feel like they are just in over their head. Like they had no idea going in how good a project this show was gonna be or how big this thing was gonna get. And they love that, but also kinda hate it too, that they have to be responsible for this phenomena.
@Raidendude153: To your first point, that's def what it seemed like. Like, they were forced into doing some kind of PR stunt at the 11th hour. Even though they announced this "spontaneous event" early this week.
@Raidendude153: They just did this very bizarre live stream where they talked about how hard its been to write the season. Justin just wanted to talk about a weird drunken experience he had in Germany the other day, while Dan wrote an on-the-fly scene for a new episode. All the while Dan is rambling, Justin is trying to be funny and they are both clearly uncomfortable and unprepared for the "event". Then they had the audience in attendance try to come up with a new character.
The whole thing was just so completely disjointed and awkward. My girlfriend and I love Rick and Morty, and she in particular is an avid HarmonTown listener, but we were both cringing the whole time. Just thinking about it now is making my skin crawl. So bizarre.
