[QUOTE="Papadrach"]so because everyone on the forums were only talking about just yesterday makes it still new? lol, look maybe GS has changed but everyone gets grilled for presenting old information as something new. I could see if GS didn't have 3 articles on this already, with the first one coming up a few days ago, but he didn't even find his info on GS, the link he posted is from IGN. Yeah it's my mistake. I used the search function with the words battlefield free to look if anyone had already talked about this before posting and nothing on that subject was found. Do it yourself and you'll seeYa everyone was talking bout it yesterday on the forums. Oh well only like 18 hours late so who cares. I just pray they take care of the game so it doesnt run like Combat Arms but they have the support of it. Hopefully it will be a nice experience.

With an under 70$ sound card, I'm not sure you'll see a big improvement over onboard sound...If I were you, I'll wait to get more cash and get an Auzenthec sound card (forte 7,1 or prelude 7,1)
[QUOTE="smc91352"]I said my rig was better than yours :?[QUOTE="SLIisaownsystem"]
than try all to beat my benchmark can u? I built my rig in february and it can still compete with the top of the line.
UltimateGamer95
And I completely agree that the OP should try to beat yours (He'll probably win) :P
Yeah SMC post some pics of your rig so they can see the awesomeness!! :DWOW it's funny how a simple question can start a war. For the overclock question a few pages before, I'm not going to push too far, I'm not that much into overclocking...maybe from 3,4 to 3,8 max.
and for the : Mine is bigger than yours ;), when I get my computer, I'll give a shot at some benchmarks to see how good it is
Two, where can I buy an HD 5850 in Canada? Newegg.ca doesn't have them and neither does Tigerdirect.
urdead18
ncix.com
edit: they even have the new 5970
and by the way:pretty nice built = 8,5/10
Thank you all but I've just finished my order on NCIX.com...I was luncky andmanaged to save a lot of money with their todays specials.
I went for the AMD since it was less with the specials. I even got the Phenom 965 instead of the 955 for an extra 2$ !!!!!!!!
In all, my built costed me 1350 cdn$ tax + shipping included !!!! this is almost 450 $ less than what I was expecting to pay at the beginning (1600 + tax)
With the extra money I'll get a 27 '' monitor
Here's what I've ordered:
-Case: Antec 902
-Mobo: asus M4A79XTD EVO
-CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE
-RAM: G.skill 4GB 2X2 DDR3-1333 9-9-9-24
-GPU: ATI 5850
-HD: Western caviar black 640GB
-Power supply: Antec TP 750W
-Windows 7 HOME 64 bit
-DVD/CD: Liteon iHAS324
....and I'll buy a sound card : creative X-FI titanium fatality pro when it's done (I didn't get it at the same time because they would have charged me the shipping since the 50lbs capwould have been breached with the sound card)
Kinda sucks at this time to build a PC considering that the i9's are coming as early as q1 of next year. it honestly up to u if you can overclock the hell out of a CPU then get an AMD but then again you really dont have to overclock intel ; ) so id say get an intel with cheaper Nvidia card like 9800gtx+ save the rest for the 300 series coming. so next year you can upgrade to beast 300 series. i5 with 300 series better than anything AMD could come up with.Shuraijuro
good point but I'm really in a urge for a new rig...at the moment I have a Pentium 4, 3,4 ghz, with 2 gig of 667 ram and an ati x850xt PE which is almost dead...for the i9, I dont really care since I've read that they are going to sell at around 1500$...of course, the 300 series is really interesting but like I said, I'm tired of my crappy machine....and I've been waiting too long just because of that :new stuff every 3 months
I'll probably going to get the AMD + ATI 5850
Thank you all for your advices
Hi,
for a few months now, I've been looking a lot for the perfect rig on a 1600$ cdn budget and I've found all the parts except for the CPU + MOBO. I just can't figured out which one I should choose between :
AMD rig: Phenom II X4 955 BE + Asus M4A79XTD EVO amd 790X
Intel rig: core i5 750 + asus P7P55D
overall, the intel rig is only 95$ more. So what's your opinion. I know the core i5 is a little bit better than the Penom 955 but I know that the lga 1156 (intel rig) is not really futureproof since no other cpus will be launched for this plateform (correct me if i'm wrong)...but how's the future of the AMD mobo, will there be other new AMD cpus for the AM3 mobo??
if it helps, I'll be using it for gaming only (old games and new ones)
thanks
None of those, go for a 16:10 1200p 24" monitor.
NotAFurry
This ^.....I have a dell st2410, which is pretty similar to the s2409w and I'm pretty satisfied with it but I would have preferred a 16:10 ratio
[QUOTE="lamx30108200"]They both have HT. i7 9xx supports triple channel whereas i7 8xx supports only dual channel.940 has HT (hyper threading) support which is not available for the 870
redneckdouglas
oups you're right I thought cpu from lga 1156 were all non HT but I found outit was only the core i5
