I'm also canadian and here's my list from newegg.ca :

case: antec 902 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129058

PSU : corsair HX620 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139002

Mobo: asus P7P55D LGA http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131404

CPU: intel corei5 750 http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115215

RAM: OCZ platinum DDR3 1333 4gb (2X2) http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227478

HD: Seagate barracuda 500 GB http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148395

CD/DVD: Samsung black http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827151187

Monitor: Asus VW246H http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236049

For a total of : 1,142 $

As you can see, there's no GPU in my list cause I'm waiting fot the ATI 5xxx series. But if you don't care, you could take the EVGA AR GTX 275 for 262 $ http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130475

or the Sapphire radeon 4890 vapor-X for 215 $ http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102841

Either way, you'll get a nice rig for around 1400 $....if you want you could put a core i7 860 instead of the i5 750 for about 100$ more and you'll still be under 2000$

Something doesn't seem right though, an i7 with 6GB, 750W and what looks like a 24'' monitor? It's not balanced, a 275 is good, a 285 would be great. It looks like overkill on the psu/ram when you need a beefy card to run games on a 24 incher.........X360PS3AMD05

there's a difference of anaverage of 10 fps between the 260 gtx and the 275 gtx on a 24 ''...for me (in canada) it's 80$ for 10fps...

pretty nice rig but like everyone said, you should replace some parts for more cash in your pockets without cutting too much in performance...in fact your rig is almost identical to the one I'll get in 2 weeks:

CPU: core i7 920

GPU: EVGA gtx 260

RAM: 6 GB corsair 1333 (3X2 GB)

MB: Asus PT (non deluxe version)

Sound: X-FI Titanium Pro

Case: Antec 900

Power: Antec 750 W

Monitor: Samsung T240

....and in around 1 year, I'll get a second gtx 260

I've read that there's no campaign in sins, only skirmishes...so I dont know if you'll like it since you want a good single player

Thanks all, I'll get 6 GB like you all advised and I'll test them, then remove one....but I won't buy vista...it's around 130 $ were I live and in ~ 6 months, windows 7 will be released...I may wait just another 3-4 months after the launch just to see how good it is.

Yes 3x2gb is better, increases your PC's life span, 6gb's of RAM will mean no need for upgrades in that area like ever, unless you want to go 1600mhz+ speeds. As a suggestion what about buying that 3x2gb(6gb) as you say will save you money, and only using 4gb of it until windows 7 is out because i think X58 boards support both dual/triple channel ram and add the last 2gb once you got win 7 64-bit installed?

Yep, good idea, I was thinking about doing that...I just hope this stick would not be DOA without knowing it until using it with windows 7

Hi,

I'm about to get a new core i7 rig in may and I've choose all my pieces but I have one last decision to make: I have windows XP 32-bit and I will stay with this OS until they release windows 7 and I know XP 32-bit does not use more than 3,5 GB of RAM so here's my options

1-Get 3X1 GB of 1333 Hz DDR3 RAM and then getting an other 3X1 GB of 1333 Hz DDR3 RAM in about 6 months when they release windows7 64 bit

2-Get 3X2 GB of 1333 Hz DDR3 RAM right now (I'll save around 30$ with this option over the first)

I'm asking this because I don't know nothing about RAM and OS and I'm afraid 6 GB with XP-32 bit could make my computer lag or something...also, if the first option is the way to go in my case,6X1 GB of RAM will offers less performance than 3X2 GB of RAM more or no changes?

Thanks
