[QUOTE="lamx30108200"]IMO, its a good price, I dont know where all of you live, but where I live (canada), with 580 $ you cant even buy a gtx 295...so 580 for a whole PC is pretty good...of course, if you put 100 $ more, you could get a better price/perfromance pc.Tagerh
canadas a nightmare ey?
Well, let's just say we are in a tough economical situation since november..like almost any country I guessThe thread on mods in this forum is great, but necessarily limited. There are game specific mod sites that are great, but is there a website that is a one-stop-shop for all things mod? Maybe with reviews or rankings of the best mods for games?

Here's a good one: http://www.moddb.com/
edited: oups, just found out the guy before me wrote the exact same thing
the original Ghost Recon, COD 1, Alien VS Predator 2, Medal of Honor Allied Assault, Far Cry(I'vewent through those games at least 4-5 times back in the days)
GTA san andreas (just because it's so huge and I had to spend so many hours to do everything)
Battlefield 1942, vietnam and 2 (spend 200+ hours for each one)
Arma: combat operation (once modded, this game is amazing, 100+ hours into it)
Maybe I did not understood the topic title but when I buy a game and start to play, I always finish it....is'nt the point of spending some cash on a product ?? I even finished Beowulf which was a pain.On the other hand, I can name one that I never finished becauseit was so bad: Jaws unleashed.
Final bosses of Doom 3 (cyberdemon)http://images.techtree.com/ttimages/story/72270_boss_cyberdemonresize.jpg or
Doom 3 resurrection of evil (maledict) http://www.fpsteam.it/img2007/SPOILER_roe/SPOILER_D3_resurrection_of_evil_01.jpg
both would make awesome tattoos if you're into heavy metal type tattoos.
[QUOTE="lamx30108200"][QUOTE="-GeordiLaForge-"]As for the video card, you can sell the one that you buy now for an expensive price on ebay and upgrade to DX11 later. DX11 is definitely worth it though, as it will last much longer than DX10. Vista is just the modern day Windows 2000. However, Vienna is the modern day XP. It's the real deal upgraded version of Vista, and is meant to last MUCH longer. You'll be seeing DX11c on the Vienna platform...-GeordiLaForge-That's exactly what I'm probably going to do....for the vienna, what is that ?? is it another name for windows 7 or it's a totally different OS It's the codename for Windows 7. But they changed the name Longhorn to Vista, so it may very well have a different name when it is released. Oh I see, thanks
arrow keys were the standard back then, with CTRL as fire and ALT as strafe
the WSAD & mouse controls didn't come into common use until after Quake, where deathmatch players discovered it was much more effective to have the left hand for movement and the right hand use the mouse for turning, aiming and looking around. after that, developers made WSAD the standard.
i used the arrow keys for a long time, all because of Doom. it wasn't until I started playing Counter-Strike in 1999-ish that I switched to WSAD and everything became so much easier.

Sounds like you got it right...Nice little story about the video game industry and how it evolved...I guess I did not evolved with it...I might give it a try since you're saying WSAD made everything much easier.....
Maybe my keyboard is the main reason why I did not switched...the keys are so close to each other that everytime I try to use WSAD, I end up pushing all the keys, which is why I still use the arrows (they are separate from the other keys)
