part 1.
On the way to the Theater, i wondered why you practically never heard MJ on the radio anymore. I flicked it on, and commercials were ending. At that moment, you guessed it, on came THRILLER. It ended as soon as I got to the Theater. From these little signs, i just knew there was going to be something great about this movie.
As i walked in to the theater, i didn't know what to expect. It was Michael Jackson. He's always differt. Always creative, and original.
"This is it" was the last song Michael Jackson wrotte in his life, less then a month before he died.
It started off great, with cast members of the would be performance talking about thier time spent with MJ. It got a little boring while showing the picking cast members, preperations, ect, but it suddenly became alot more MJ when it showed the shooting of the new video for "Smooth Criminal." I absolutly loved the new shots, especially of Michael jumping through the glass to avoid numerous CG bullets.
Things started to die down after that, i even put my attention off the video for a bit. it all seemed less MJ, until the starting beats of "Thriller" came on. I smilied, pobably the first time i had ever done so during a movie, without anything being funny. I almost had to restrain myself from jumping up out of my seat and breaking it down.
From the point where the blood splattered on the screen, and dripped down spelling "THRILLER" in gory letters, to the end it was so Michael. The brand new music video MJ had planned for us, was AMAZING! Dead people were jumping and dancing out of thier graves every way you looked, and you could tell everyone was having a ton of fun. The thriller video served to be a little cheesy, but maintained the original feel.
It finnaly sunk in on me during this part that Michael is gone- I never have really been able to grasp this fact, but as i saw it flash between Michael, and thousands of floating, mummified bodies, both of them in the exact same stance, i finaly have realized he's no longer with us.
However this video really leaves a legacy of him- it's the last documentary of him we got, and we get to learn a bit more about him. i'll explain more about that later in the review.
After Thriller was my Favorite Jackson song of all time- Beat it. To see Michael still performing this, was just to awesome. I wish they would have used the same exact notes from the 80s' though. This version was more based on Hard rock, and about a minute of it was an end solo, as Michael danced around his hot guitarist.
After that was something i thought i'd never see. The current Jackson 5 performed 1-2-3! Afterward, It showed clips from the original Jackson 5, When Michael was still a kid. I'm glad they had clips of that in there, as it's defiently a part of the King of Pop's history.
A few more uneventful songs came and went, with nothing really intresting inbetween besides Bad. After, Michael did Man in the Mirror, We are the world, and ended it all with Billie Jean.
You can really see Michael's personality in this video- it shows us directly into his practice life. At one point, he is on a lift that's going around, as they practiced for beat it, and the director tells him: "now Michael, this is low as it can go. i'll put it higher, if you want." and MJ replies "Why would you ever ask me that? of COURSE i want it higher!" Everyone in the theater, and the crew in the movie, laughed. It showed MJ was always a child at heart.
Man in the Mirror and We are the World both showed how caring he was, and how he truely loved every living creature on this earth.
In We are the World, there was a dramatic side video of a girl being perfectly happy, and falling asleep in a rain fores. she woke up later, to a bulldozer, and the forest on fire. there is one small tree left, and she runs up to grab it. she unroots it, and is about to run to avoid, the bulldozer, but it't too late... at this point, the song ends. Michael explained how he wrote it because he so badly wanted to save the rainforests- one of his legacies left with us today.
In man in the mirrior, one line remains strong- If you don't like what you see, change yourself.
Michael belived this, and so did everyone around him. I personnaly know the charges of him being a pedopile were fake, made up by the ex- wife for a part of his fortune. MJ said it best himself: The media twist and turn words, and like to report nothing but the bad. They never tell you the good things. Michael was a good man, and his nature just pojnts to a man who wouldn't do such a thing. Someone like that would never write songs like Man in the Mirror.
After Billie Jean ended, no one got up, or left. Througout the credits, they played Michael's final song- This is it. In fact, throughout the entire credits, only 1 person left. I've NEVER seen that before. This Movie was great, and for anyone who would have wanted to see his concerts, a MUST see.
i give 4 out of 5 if your a little bit of an M.J. fan, and a 4.5 out of 5 if your a true fan.
Thanks for reading, and have fun watching, if you go.
And in the words of the King of Pop: God bless you all.
ok, still going to gamefaqs, but i'll stay here too. i realized how stupid it would be to leave everyone behinde.
and wow, i just figured out how to see everyones whos tracking you! 11 people! i thought it was only 4...
i track back EVERYONE who tracks me, btw.
so a few last things: I have given up on a review a week. that would mean im about 25 reviews behinde, and theres no way ill catch up... ill set my record clear, and aim for a review per month, but no promises.
Also, only 1 more arcade game to review, before i moe up to the 2600! all games i review are NOT emulated.
Lastly, screw the restricted blog ammount thing i said. as you can see blogs are back in full force, though i'll still leave out the REALLY unimportent ones...
soon, ill have VIDEO reviews of everything on youtube! www.youtube.com/infantryhawk
have a good night, or morning, or whatever...
As i look at my profile, i see 3/5 of my tracked blogs are complaining of how dumb mods are, or of a terrible decision they made.
drdh was recently banned, as im sure most everyone heard.
leading to many others possibly leaving.
leading to me possible leaving. No one ever read my blogs or reviews anyway.
So if you are reading this, i guess i'll just keep posting reviews until i'm banned, or something.
I'll quit blogs if a few select people leave- my few readers. you probably know who you are.
But my question is, what would be the point in staying on gamespot? idiot mods? losing the copy right to YOUR videos you post up here? my friends, and possibly even myself being banned?
i'll be on gamefaqs, under the same name.
This review was edited, knowing they'd probably assassinate me if i expressed an actual opinion.
just cause i said i wasn't posting bl;ogs as often dosn't mean i'm droping off the face of the earth- I decided to cut out blogs that might be considered "unimportent."
recently purchased:
a cdi 450, with a demo. status: returned, since it didnt work.
a cdi 450, complete with box: status: i was jipped. saves didnt work, but no refund. i keep it in my room, and will probably resell it.
A cd-i 450, with the zelda games. status: hasn't arrived yet. games were discovered to be copies. idk if the player works.
phantasy star online +, with giest and a few gamecube games. Status: PSO+ is AWESOME!!! havn't tried the others...
CD-i to genesis controller converter. status: homemade, buit they did a really good job. works 100%, and i'm real happy with it.
Klax (nes game): tetris clone, thats pretty boring. good price, though.
On to now playing, where i'll state opinions on games, or what i'm addicted too.
I found an rf switch for my ps2, so i hooked it up in my room, under the SMS and NES. I later hooked up a cd-i, and put the SMS ontop of the TV instead. Somehow having my ps2 in my room has made he play it LESS...
I'm doing some atari arcade games, and i have my ways to find them. I am reviewing them.
Harvest moon back to nature (ps1): a highly addictive farm simulation tycoon game, that i just can't put down.
PSO+: the story is awesome, withed added quests and cinamtric spots. the upgrade is only worth it to hardcore phantasy star fans, though.
IWTBG: lets playing it for youtube. www.youtube.com/infantryhawk
And lastly: Zelda the wand of gamelon (CD-I) an awesome side scroller, if you can get over the cutscenes and have a good controller. Even though i can't save, its fun to see how far i can get in this tough, yet fun game.
Thats all for now...
or, at the most part, heavily reducing my ammount of blogs that come out. This is because my expiriment 5 days ago, which was the previous blog, didnt get any comments, so if no one reads them, i figured i'm just writing this for very few or no people to read them.
ive been posting, without many responses, and usually if i get one its from the same person. so if you still read any of my blogs, post a comment so i know you do, thanks.
i just got Phantasy star online episode 1 and 2 PLUS for a mere 30$ at goodwill. it was in a package deal with two games i didnt care for (animaniacs and golf) and one id try out (giest.)
Ill sell my copy of normal, for about 30 bucks, and BREAK EVEN! + upgrade for free! anyway, i'm gonna grab an adapter, so if any of you play on shatack server, list your accounts here, and we can play together sometime!
im in 9th grade, but its in the same school as7th and 8th, for some reason.
Anyway, yesterday, i came, wearing a trenchcoat. our vice principle was taling to a teacher, and the teacher tells him theres a kid (me) with a trenchcoat behinde him. i was then treated to him staring at me for a full minute straight, expecting me to whip out a tommigun at any moment, and blow the place over.
Of course, i was unarmed, and wasnt caring anything illegal, but ALL teachers overeact if your wearing a trenchcoat. its a town of 12000. whats gonna happen. seriously?
later that day, i sprained my foot. bad. i got nailed during gym in an intense soccor match. so i went to my french teacher, and told her id be late. she said ok, so i limbed on down to the nurses office. They asked where i should b e and i told them french and the teachers name. so they asked my name, and i said it was ok and the teacher knew i was here. she then spazzes and goes WHATS YOUR NAME?! so i told her, and i didnt have a pass, but despite my obvious wonded foot, it took me another 2 minutes to perswade her for 5 minutes with the ice. (which wasn't enough.) Who would go through that trouble to skip 5 minutes of class?
She happened to know a friend of mine who went down without a pass today, and he gets 20 minutes with the ice, just because she knows him. And hes the type that WOULD do that to skip class. they take it a little too seriously, id say.
